Domain privileges lost after second logon
Hi, I'm hoping someone will help me fix an annoying problem. I have a Redhat fedora core 1 machine, with the stock installation of samba acting as a primary domain controller. I'm using an LDAP backend, and I'm not using any mandatory profiles. When someone logs into a newly booted winXP or w2k machine, everything works fine. The groups are there and everybody has their

Speed issue
Hi all, I am trying to migrate a NetWare file server to samba (on Red Hat 9). My problem is that unfortunatelly samba is somehow painfully slow, when we run DOS programs from it on the client machines. The NetWare server is an ancient machine. P1, probably. The Samba server is P4 3G, 1G RAM, RAID mirroring, etc. We are running and old DOS program on the client machines, and when it's

how to get logon.bat run with Administrator rights in domain logons?
On win XP Pro workstations it would be so convenient if the domain logon script which is stored on the samba pdc could be made to run with Administrative (or System) privileges. I know that I can interactively run another security context by choosing "run as user" but how could I achieve this non-interactively and domain wide whilst a "limited account" is loggin in? Thanks

Logon script with Administrator rights
I am using a .bat logon script (the same for all users) and it avoids that I have to configure each user manually. But now I have to run a command that requires administrator rights on two files, and the command I write in the .bat file doesn't work. Do you know how to run the logon script as the local machine Administrator? After all, the logon script is on the server and only me can

Icecast deadlock with 1.3.12 (fixed)
Folks- First, let me submit a disclaimer... I know 1.3.12 is unsupported. However, since icecast2 isn't officially released, I'm abit SOL anyways, so I'm currently trying to debug it and will release a patch when I'm done. (Which I'm doing since the code is GPL and I want to contribute... if no one cares, let me know and I'll stop updating the list with what i find)

Dovecot & pam_mkhomedir
Hi there, Does anyone have Dovecot working correctly with pam_mkhomedir, please? I seem to be going through quite a number of IMAP servers this week, trying to find one that will not only authenticate against a Windows domain but which will also create home directories for users the first time they log in. I'm using winbind to do the authentication & that seems to be doing the trick

GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
Hai Marc, But thats missing info.. :-( Maybe its also a good thing to add just after the first picture on the wiki. That the security filter on the GPO MUST have "authenticated users" or Domain computer group. You decide. IPSec tunnel mode with IKE daemon
Hi all. The IPSec part of the LARTC howto is great, but I''ve hit a problem in 7.3. IPSEC tunnels. The example given is for manual keying: add 10.0.0.216 10.0.0.11 esp 34501 -m tunnel -E 3des-cbc "123456789012123456789012"; How does one setup "tunnel mode" using racoon? GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
Hai Marc, Well first, no you did nothing wrong here. This was fine when you wrote it, but after the BadLock Bug, Microsoft change the way some policies are applied. A good explaination here. http://www.mistercloudtech.com/2016/06/22/june-14th-windows-update-changes-group-policy-security-filtering/ Best regards, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: Marc Muehlfeld

GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
Good morning people, I need a help with a gpo to give administration right only on the workstation for a normal user. I tried 3 tutorials I found on google plus none worked. How do you do when you need an ordinary user to have administration right only on the workstation? If you have a tutorial that is running in version 4.5.5 and can make it available thank you very much. Regards,

Winbind & adding users... is `useradd` being called? %u parameter?
Hi there, This is probably a dumb question, so my apologies, but I've set up WinBind on my my Samba box & it seems to be authenticating against the domain, however new user accounts do not seem to be added. `wbinfo -u` returns a list of the users on the domain and I seem to have setup my IMAP server correctly to authenticate against that (using PAM), as I see the following in

Amavisd Howto
Hello CentOS Docs People! I recently used the Amavisd howto to setup a couple of mailservers, which saved me from hours of searching online and reading novels of documentation. Since Ned is taking a little break from the Amavisd page, I would like to help contribute. There were a few things I'd like to add, like GTUBE/EICAR testing and SELinux config lines. My wiki username is WilliamFong.

samba3.0.1/win2000ad/kerberos5: user cannot logon
Hi everyone! I've googled alot for this, and found *some* people with similar questions, but there was no answer if this is a bug in samba, a misconfiguration, or what? I have a win2000 active directory Server (wurzel.baum.local), a samba 2.2.3a on debian stable/woody (stamm.baum.local), security = user, a samba 3.0.1 on debian testing/Sarge (blatt1.baum.local) and a windowsxp machine joined

generating random covariance matrices (with a uniform distribution of correlations)
List members, Via searches I've seen similar discussion of this topic but have not seen resolution of the particular issue I am experiencing. If my search on this topic failed, I apologize for the redundancy. I am attempting to generate random covariance matrices but would like the corresponding correlations to be uniformly distributed between -1 and 1. The approach I have been using is:

Short postgrey guide?
Hi Guys, Are you interested in a brief guide on how to set up postgrey (anti-spam greylisting) with postfix? I set it up today and it took me a while to get it working as the config is slightly different from that on many of the googled guides (many are debian/ubuntu based). The darn config file lives in /etc/sysconfig on RH/CentOS rather than /etc/default as mentioned in all the guides I
