Can someone help confirm a bug? kio_http kdegraphics
Hello:
I'm trying to track down a kio_http problem using CentOS 6.4 with KDE.
This causes multiple kio_http procs to spawn and lots of
notifications.
Several steps are needed:
Create a foo.html with an href
foo.html
<html><head>Test</head><body><a
href=http://ovh.com>http://ovh.com</a></body></html> [^]
Use html2ps then ps2pdf to create a PDF

KParts for KDE 3 , KDE 4
Hello,
I started writing a KPart for swfdec so that it will work nicely in
Konqueror. Currently it can load various movies using swfdec's built
in loader and render them. Although swfdec's loader can only handle
local URLs, KPart provides a mechanism to download movies to temporary
local files if the part doesn't explicitly support non-local URLs.
That works for simple movies, but I

kio_http spawns multiple processes
Hello All:
I've narrowed an earlier issue down to a problem with kio_http. This
one is much easier to reproduce:
In a KDE session, open Konsole terminal.
In the Konsole session, type a bogus web address. E.g.: http://magoo.ca
Right click the link and select "Open Link"
In a few seconds you should get multiple notifications on the desktop
and several kio_http processes spawned.

Weird Okular/KDE error - thousand procs spawned
Hello all:
I'm trying to troubleshoot a strange and repeatable error and not sure
where to log the bug report.
I subscribe to Linux Journal and download their PDF. The DLJ230.pdf
opens in the Okular PDF reader from Konqueror. If I scroll down to
the ad for some colo site (www.ovh.com) and click the right side of
the page, I immediately start getting hundreds of alerts on the
desktop.

Xen VGA Passthrough Questions
Dear David Techer,
I have read through your article on Xen VGA passthrough on
http://www.davidgis.fr.
It appears that the following command on your blog doesn''t work.
dmesg | grep 01:00.0 | grep BAR
The above command shows nothing at all. Is there an alternative solution?
Thank you very much.
Yours sincerely,
Teo En Ming (Zhang Enming)

Mounting filesystems with blktap2
For those wanting to know how to mount filesystems through blktap2
here is how you do it, as I couldn''t find it fully documented.
The instructions on the blktap2 readme file are rather out of date.
You can mount them under Dom0 like so.
e.g. to mount a vhd file,
sudo xm block-attach 0 tap2:vhd:/home/xen/xenwin7-persist.vhd xvdb w 0
Now the device should appear under /dev

Blank console and no boot
Hi. I was cloning a domain and now I can't boot the original
nor the clone domain.
Currently when I start one of those domains I can see only a
blank screen. I am not sure what went wrong cloning. I was trying
to use kpart to mount the new image and change info in the filesystem
like hostname, ip and so. Anyway when I start the new or old domain:
# virsh start --console thedomain

Samba 4.9.4 - high RAM usage - OOM killer
Hi,
We upgraded a legacy (NT4) domain from 3.6 series to 4.8 and then 4.9.4
samba version (using sernet subscription packages / debian stable)
The setup is composed of 4 DCs with each 2 CPU/16GB RAM.
We currently have ~700 user accounts / ~600 computers / ~150 groups
Our mail setup, SSO, ... query the 4 DCs constantly.
Every 5 to 10 days the RAM consumption and CPU usage (due to kswapd)

Slow read performance
Help please-
I am running 3.3.1 on Centos using a 10GB network. I get reasonable write speeds, although I think they could be faster. But my read speeds are REALLY slow.
Executive summary:
On gluster client-
Writes average about 700-800MB/s
Reads average about 70-80MB/s
On server-
Writes average about 1-1.5GB/s
Reads average about 2-3GB/s
Any thoughts?
Here are some additional details:
