syncing file dates between windows nt4 and samba 3.0
Hi all,...
... currently I am trying to get hold of a strange error which is
successfully keeping me from sleeping the last week. Basically, I am
running a DebianGNU/Linux based machine with samba 3.0.0 as a backup
server for an amount of Windows NT4 workstations. There is an old backup
"framework" around here, basically a collection of .bat files on the
workstations which at

gconf-settings for compiz get overwritten
Hi!
I'm having a problem with compiz on a Centos5-machine (I know compiz
is only "Beta", but it looks soooo cool). When I use the gconf-editor
to edit settings of the plugins (for instance
/apps/compiz/plugins/scale/allscreens/options/initiate_edge) they work
as expected, they get written to the correct file in ~/.gconf, but the
next time I log in the are reset to the default value

performance issue with overwritten files
Hi Guys,
I have experienced a recent performance issue with an ext2 filesystem.
Essentially I have had several files that get overwritten on average
once per day.
This has been happening for about a hear when the program accessing and
reading those files started from several milliseconds to 15-20 seconds
to open and read the file.
Moving the directory to a new name and copying the contents

Recover files from overwritten zpool?
To make a long story short, after a Solaris reinstall I needed to access
a disk from the previous install. I realize now I should have done a
zpool import, but instead I recreated the pool, thinking this would
bring my file system back. I destroyed the new pool, but other than that
I have done nothing to overwrite data.
Is it possible to recover the data from the old pool?

/etc/init.d/ overwritten
Hello,
Upon trying to install 3.0.2, after executing install.sh, all of the
system''s /etc/init.d/* scripts are gone. Only /etc/init.d/xend and
/etc/init.d/xendomains remain.
Thanks,
Brian

Adding extra field in form using ajax causes extra field to be overwritten, any way around that.
I''m having trouble when I try to add another field in the form using ajax.
I''m trying to add another line_item object into the invoice and i''m using
the link_to_remote function to implement this. When I do that though and
submit to the form, the line_item entries all have the same field name so
they get overwritten. I''m not sure how to get around that.

Rescuing Overwritten Pools
Hi All,
I have a usb drive (80gb) that was formatted as zfs and had my music
collection on it when I inadvertently used a bug in freenas to recreate as
a new zfs volume which no longer seems to contain my music. It used the
80gb rather then the clean 2Tb that I intended it to use.
The overwrite is not catastrophic as the drive only contained the FLAC rips
of my own music collection,

voicemail.conf overwritten
I'm trying to set up a base * configuration in a version control system.
I have nearly all the system-specific configuration pulled out into a
subdirectory so that /etc/asterisk is very generic and I can copy it into
another system when I create it.
The only stickler is voicemail.conf.
Includes within voicemail.conf will work, but when a user changes their
password, * cannot put the change

R CMD check: should .Rout.save contain the new "Registered S3 method overwritten by" message?
Hi
Since I believe 3.6, there is a message when loading a package that
overwrites S3 methods, reading like "Registered S3 method overwritten
by...". Should this message be included in the xxx.Rout.save files saved in
the tests/ folder of a package? It seems R CMD check is not happy about it?
I simply ran R CMD BATCH xxx.R xxx.Rout.save but running later on R CMD
check on the package

Can someone tell me how to fix the left margin of plot region

I haven't been able to set the correct par option to fix this...

commands overwritten
Hi,
I am often re-use commands in R by using the arrows to retype them and modify for the new needs. This way, I don't need to write commands again, and I can modify the command by inserting/deleting/re-writing the command. Today, suddenly, re-writing change the commands as the "insert" function does in Word. for example - if I am standing in the middle of

Function Value Not Being Overwritten?
Part of my problem is that I am in the middle of starting to use functions, so this was unexpected behavior for me.? Maybe there is a work-around because I like declaring some of the variables prior to using them.??
I have two separate files:
# File: Test.R
dog<-function(x)
{
??? templeton<-NULL
??? source("Cat.R")
??? print(templeton)
??? print(x)
???
??? print(bobby)
