I have /etc/auto.master and /etc/auto.smb such that
ls /smb/<name of system>
works for the two Win98 machines on my network (the machines get
automatically mounted and the directory contains "C"). When I try the same
command on the Windows XP machine, I get
No such file or directory
The auto.smb file that came with my OS (Libranet 3) uses smbclient to get a

Login script doesn't run
Hi,
The login script has worked for our win98 computers since the dawn of time (or
there abouts). Then something happened or I did something and the login script
doesn't run anymore. I can run it manually. This was version 2.2.3a.
I started smbd with -d10 and didn't see any call for a script. Is the login script
mentioned in a working system?
In an effort to fix this, I deleted and

Win2K sp4 can't print
Hi,
I just installed 2 Win2K sp4 workstations on an otherwise working Samba 2.2.8a
network and 2 of the 3 printers are showing "Access denied". What's up with that?
The other computers that are working just fine are Win98, XP and Win2K NOT sp4.
Here is part of the global section:

load printers = yes
disable spoolss = yes

Login script doesn't run - Solved
I hate being stupid. Here is the answer:
This won't work:
[global]
logon script = %U.bat # Win9x needs this
This will work:
[global]
# Win9x needs this
logon script = %U.bat
The comment has to be on it's own line.
Thanks to all for trying to help.

Logoff script?
Is there such a thing as a Samba logoff script? I am currently using
[NETLOGON] for logon scripts, but for the adding and removing of printers
via WSH, I'd prefer to also remove these printers after I log off.

Win98 troubles
Hi,
I have a client with 2 Win98 out of 15 computers that refuse to see the server when
they first turn them on in the morning. When they logon as a new user, not a
reboot, it connects and they work fine for the rest of the day. They can even
reboot whenever they want throughout the day and it works, but when they turn it off
over night, the computers refuse to see the domain the next morning.

copy a large volume of data from PC to samba server
Hi there,
Is there someone over there knows a method or script
that can copy a large volume of data (in folders) from PCs
to a samba server (suppose there is enough space there)?
I know using smbclient or smbtar can backup data on PCs
to samba server, but it is written in tar files.I wonder whether
this method can handle a large folder, say, in 10GB size.
Also, using smbclient with mget and

Any recommendations on Perc H700 controller on Dell Rx10 ?
Hi folks:
At work, I have an R510, and R610 and an R710 - all with the H700 PERC
controller.
Based on experiments, it seems like there is no way to bypass the PERC
controller - it seems like one can only access the individual disks if
they are set up in RAID0 each.
This brings me to ask some questions:
a. Is it fine (in terms of an intelligent controller coming in the way
of ZFS) to have the

Expected behavior of lld during LTO for global symbols (Attr Internal/Common)
The direct cause of this issue is that, previously lld converted common
symbols to defined symbols before passing input files to LTO, and
after r360841 they are passed as common symbols to LTO. Making lld to work
as before is easy, as we can convert common symbols to defined symbols as
before. Here is a patch to do that, and I confirmed that that restores the
original behavior for the reported

Hi Suresh,
thanks for reporting this!
I thought I fixed this with 8d94d3c3b44c3a27a69b153cef9be4b8e481150e.
Did you run before or after that commit?
Cheers,
Johannes

New LLVM backend Target: compile procedure
Hi all,
I'm trying to get familiar with the LLVM build procedure when adding a
new Target.
In the main source tree, i copied the lib/Target/MSP430 as
lib/Target/newUC and renamed all the files. Further i edited the
different files like Triple.h, Triple.cpp, LLVMBuild.txt, CMakeLists.txt,
CallingConv.h to take in this new Target.
Then i deleted the files under the current

To be decodable by opus_demo, you'll have to add the 8-byte "header".
Just put in the length of the packet followed by "0" for the encoder
range (0 means "not present").
That being said, from previous experience, the most likely cause of the
crash is a bug in your software causing a corruption in Opus. So it's
safe to assume that if you can't reproduce
