patche for samba-2.0.7/source/smbd/conn.c
Dear all, I have made patch for samba-2.0.7/source/smbd/conn.c This will, instead of using by-directional link, use array for managing connections. # The patch does seems to work on my RHL6.1Ja(fixed) version of # Linux machine. I don't know about other OS/Architecture. This should work better then original because: 1) The original code used bitmap.c for looking empty area. But using

Inherit Permissions addition
Gentlemen, I was delighted to read about and test the "inherit permissions" feature of version 2.0.7 for myself. This is a wonderful addition to Samba; thank you, David Lee, for your fine work. After initial testing, it became apparent to me that inheriting the 'group' permissions on a subfolder within a share without also 'forcing' the group ownership on the new files

Trying to debug a WinXP - Win2000 ADSproblem..HELP!
Now I could be way of base here, but I run 2 samba web servers with approx 8 people working with them. So my exp is limited. When I got here the boxes were set up with server level security and I had tons of problems with them. When I reformatted the units, I actually joined the samba boxes to the domain and set the security to "domain" I found these steps in an old version of Linux-Mag,

help with shadow copy implementation
Hi, Over the past several days I have been trying to get the shadow to work with samba but haven't been successful. Can someone check below config and let me know if I am missing something? We are using Equallogic SAN and iSCSI LUNS to mount volumes. I can cleanly access samba shares on Windows 7 clients but just not shadow copy. I have referred the official how-to but couldn't get it to

Failed to delete entry for share
Hi All, I'm having some minor trouble with an obscure samba feature. I'm using the remote administration "Server Manager" features of smb.conf. Specifically the "add share command" "change share command" and "delete share command". I've written a small C program to do the text-processing portion of smb.conf file needed for each operation. The C

The result ist that copy jobs etc. are just signing off. Sorry for not entering this in the bugzilla thing. I am not too familiar using it. Problem with Win95 + DFS clients (fwd)
Hi, I've found a problem with samba when printing from a client running win95 + DFS. The print fails with a segmentation fault. The problem is that Win95 does not return the proper file_fsp( smb_vwv0) when doing an IOCTL request. This causes the file_fsp call in reply_ioctl (smbd/reply.c) to fail cause a segmentation fault. I do not understand how samba work, but here is my working patch
