Activate ingress policies on suse ent erpr ise serv er 9
Hi,
The problem is this is my goal to use the policier and not the iptables.
Because with the policier i think you can give more rules and restrictions
to the incoming tcpip traffic.
So I would prefer to use the policier and not the iptables.
Thanks

AW: Activate ingress policies on suse enterprise server 9
Hi,
Thanks for the fast response,
.)Okay I tried your suggestion for my port 8099 and nothing happened:
The tcp ip information goes from a firewall to my port 8099 and this port is
than routed to the original 8080, I do that because I don`t want to dirturb
my port 8080.
But it seams the ingress filter doesn`t work on it!!

Hi,
So far, if have understand correctly: I route the incoming tcpip message of
port 8099 directly to 8080 and then the ingress filter on port 8099 has
nothing to do!?
Yes I think on different interface on one machine (different Ports for
different Request, with different restriction).
What has exactly to be done to set the policier before Prerouting!

SAMBA 3.0 joining Domain fails with SuSE rpm's
Hello,
I'm not sure if it's a bug - or I'm just too stupid..!?
Downloaded the Samba beta-code from ftp.suse.com/gd - rpm's for SuSE 8.2 (03/06/22). Installed all packages with no problems - samba works well, but integration in a W2K Domain fails. Kinit is successful but joining a domain brings up the following errors.

Samba 3.0.4-Suse-Package with Suse 9.0
Hello,
at a client's site I have to use Suse Linux 9.0 Pro for specific
kernel-modules Suse Linux 9.1 does not provide anymore.
To get the server up-to-date I took the Samba-rpms from sernet.de and
ran a successful "rpm -Uvh".
For an application it is necessary to print via the smb-backend of
CUPS, I have to get a queue pointing at a printer located at a Win-PC.
That printer is

Server migration and software upgrade Suse 7.3/Samba 3 to Suse 9.3/Samba 3
I currently have a Samba 2.2.7a Domain running on Suse 7.3 that needs
to be replaced. The machine that will take its place runs Samba 3 on
Suse 9.3. The only docs I've seen so far covering migration have been
from NT4 to Samba not Samba to Samba and the upgrade docs only cover
same machine upgrades. It is possible that all clients be disconnected
for this migration.
I was planning on copying

Samba and SuSE 9.1?
Hi everyone,
I have so many problems with samba on one PC with SuSE 9.1 on.
This PC is on a local area network with another PC with SuSE 9.0 on it
with a working samba connection, and some windows clients.
My 9.1 PC has an ASUS P4S800 motherboard and I use the integrated
Asustek sis900 ethernet lan configured as eth0 with the sis900 module.
Static IP and static gateway (the SuSE 9.0 machine).

I have a Suse Linux 10.1 X86_64 server that is destined to work with a
mixed bag of OS/2, Windows and Linux clients. For this reason, I have
again chosen to use the SMB protocol, which mandates the use of samba. I
started with samba 3.0.22, but ran into some glitches so migrated to
3.0.23rc3.
My Linux client is running Suse 10.1 X86_32 with samba

SuSE Winbind "Zen" Question with Samba 3.0.4
OK, I fixed all of my winbind problems (I think), but I'm not sure the
outcome is optimal, so I'm looking for advice and counsel at more of a
philosophical level, rather than a pure technical level.
I would be grateful for comments on the following setup:
