the desktop.ini incident again
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi folks, I also have the problem that the notepad pops up (with desktop.ini opened), everytime I logon. I know the workaround that was mentioned a thousand times before: hide files = /desktop.ini/ntuser.ini/NTUSER.*/ I put the file to the [profile]-share, to the [global]-share, but it won't work! An extract of my smb.conf: [profiles]

USRMGR, groups, and ldap
I currently have samba version 3.0.23 installed using ldap as the backend. I am experiencing the same problems as Holger Wesser mentioned in his posting "USRMGR.exe not working properly". However, it appears that the fix of creating the group mappings does not work. They appear to be mapped correctly on my setup. My net groupmap list is: Domain Admins

USRMGR.exe not working properly
Hi there, I'm running Debian Sarge with the sernet-packages of Samba. Yesterday I updated from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23. When I start the usrmgr.exe, I still are able to modify users but I cannot see/modify groups anymore. Where could I start to find the problem? Thanks. Holger

Problem with Windows XP
Helo, I've a problem with a network of XP Pc's and a Samba Server. Question to the Samba-Developer
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there, as mentioned in a thread before, I'm in trouble when trying to add a local group via NT-Usermanager. I think the problem is the following line in the smb.conf: add group script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-groupadd -p "%g" In this case, the only parameter that is handed over to the smbldap-groupadd script is the name of the

Running Debian as DomU
Hello, I just gain experiences in using XEN and hope you can help me. My hostsystem is Centos5 that I installed on a Software-Raid (Level 1). Afterwards I downloaded the debian-tarball from the jailtime.org website, extracted/mounted the image and copied the "*/lib/modules/*<kernelversion>"-folder from my host to the guest. My XEN-Configfile looks like this: kernel =

Compiling Samba 3.0.6 on FreeBSD 5.2.1
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there, since yesterday the compiling of samba drives me mad. I'm running FreeBSD 5.2.1, installed OpenLDAP client/server and KRB5. Afterwards I got the sources for the 3.0.6-release, unpacked them and tried to configure like: ./configure --includedir=/usr/local/include/ - --with-libiconv=/usr/local/lib --with-pam --with-readline -

Another 'file has vanished' incident
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, first, a big THANKS to everyone who is involved in developing rsync. This great tool has simplified my life so much. I use rsync to synchronize some SMB-Shares to an external firewire-disk. So I mount the shares into my filesystem (read-only), mount the external disk and rsync them. Unfortunately I've some troubles relating the

Adding local group -> Access denied
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there, short question: I try to add a local group via the NT-Usermanager ("usrmgr.exe"), but everytime I get a "Access denied". Adding a global group works. I'm logged on as "Administrator". I'm running Samba 3.0.14a on Debian Sarge (testing) with the smbldap-tools (v0.8.8). What could I have done wrong?

Sambaserver slows down, too many smbd processes
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi folks, maybe my problem was discussed before, but I'm just too busy to browse the whole mailinglist at the moment. I'm running Samba 3.0.14a(sernet) on a Debian Sarge with LDAP-Backend. After some days, the users aren't able to load their profiles from the server. In fact, no datas can be transfered from/to the sambaserver. The cpu

[Fwd: Re: USRMGR.exe not working properly]
i built a samba/ldap pdc. i have the same 'net groupmap list' as holger wesser. it was made by a 'net rpc vampire' because i have to migrate from an NT4 domain. so if i understand well, 'net rpc vampire' creates unix groups with blank spaces but shouldnt ? unix groups are at the right of the groupmap list ? exact ? Do i have to correct unix groups in the ldap base and put

[LLVMdev] RFC: Upcoming Build System Changes
Chris Lattner <clattner at apple.com> writes: > Forgive me, but I've lost track of how any of this has to do with > Daniel's proposal. Recursive make vs not, make vs cmake all don't > actually matter to his proposal. One of the problems with Daniel's proposal is that besides addressing the duplicity issue, it has no applications to back it up. The things mentioned

RSpec and Mock Tutorial/Cheatsheet
I wrote a simple summary of Mocks with RSpec as an answer to a discussion on our local Ruby users group. I was wondering if people here could review it, adding comments for any corrections or other important ideas regarding mocks and RSpec. You can find the article here: http://blog.showcase60.com/2007/12/13/rspec-mocks Thanks

custom matcher tutorial
I wrote some quick notes up on a custom matcher I wrote around a pattern that I am using constantly. http://smartic.us/2007/11/26/rspec-matcher-for-active-record-associations You could use it as a custom matcher tutorial for the uninitiated or as a possible solution for validations specs for the more advanced. Or you could use it to school me, and explain why my code sucks :) bryanl
