Problem with nls.lm function of minpack.lm package.
Dear R useRs, I have a problem with nls.lm function of minpackl.lm package. I need to fit the Van Genuchten Model to a set of data of Theta and hydraulic conductivity with nls.lm function of minpack.lm package. For the first fit, the parameter estimates keep changing even after 1000 iterations (Th) and I have a following error message for fit of hydraulic conductivity (k); Reason for

UseR! 2010 - my impressions
Dear UseRs!, Everything about UseR! 2010 was terrific! I really mean "everything" - the tutorials, invited talks, kaleidoscope sessions, focus sessions, breakfast, snacks, lunch, conference dinner, shuttle services, and the participants. The organization was fabulous. NIST were gracious hosts, and provided top notch facilities. The rousing speech by Antonio Possolo, who is the chief

Interdomain Trusts
Does anyone know if interdomain trusts work in samba at all and what versions they do? I am trying to get a 1 way trust working between two domains and DOM A (which samba is joined to works in mapping users via winbind) just not the one way trust for the other domain.... DOM B Samba is just a joined member of the domain A with security = ads with nothing more than winbind id rid maps for both

Why do Interdomain trusts try to use kerberos
I have setup a test PDC with samba 3.4.7 on a fedora core 12 linux machine. I have setup two way interdomain trusts with a Windows 2008 domain. The domain and forest functional levels are Windows 2003. Since the samba machine is not emulating an Active Domain Controller, the Windows 2008 machine should think it is talking to an NT4 server. And since NT4-based domains don't use

Interdomain trusts (Bind NACK received on pipe)
I'm attempting to set up a 2-way NT4-style trust between samba 3.0.1-2 (from source rpm on redhat 7.2) and Windows 2003 running active directory. The AD server (SANDMAN) trust of my Samba domain works fine, but when I try to use the Samba trust of the AD server I get the following error: [2004/02/04 15:52:34, 3] rpc_client/cli_pipe.c:rpc_api_pipe(462) Bind NACK received on pipe c009!

Interdomain trusts
I am running samba 3.0.4 using ldap and I am having a wierd problem. I am trying to setup a one way trust with an NT4 PDC. The NT4 PDC is the trusted domain and the samba pdc is the trusting. I setup the password on the nt4 machine in the trusting field. When I go to the samba pdc and type in "net rpc trustdom establish NT4PDC" it prompts for the password. After I type it in it

Interdomain Trusts and Winbind
Hello all, I want two Samba PDC's to trust each other. It says I need Winbind to be running on the trusting domain. To run Winbind, one of the steps is to join the PDC domain. Can one PDC join another PDC's domain?? Can someone please tell if i'm configuring this correctly? Thanks. Jason. -- Jason Coo Computer Engineer, P.Eng. The Fluid Life Corporation 1-877-962-2400

Interdomain Trusts & winbind
Hi List, In an effort to keep this succinct and orderly I'll briefly state what I'm trying to do: I have two samba domains, DOM1 and DOM2. They are on separate subnets and all IP routing is configured. DOM1 has ~100 users on one samba DC and uses the ldap backend. Works great and has been in service for a while. Samba version is 3.0.29. DOM2 has ~10 users on one samba DC and uses

Winbindd has still bottlenecks when used with interdomain trusts.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings! I run samba 3 since several years in a domain with more than 10000 users and multiple departments. We have a central Domain running a PDC and some domains in the departments. The domains in the departments are connected to the central domain via interdomain trusts. All PDCs are samba 3 using the same LDAP backends (very fast SunONE LDAP

Why do Interdomain trusts try to use kerberos - updated
On my test Samba PDC, I updated the krb5.conf file to add realm info for the Windows 2008. This seems to have resolved my "wbinfo" issue. "getent passwd" is still not working (I did update nsswitch.conf) but I suspect this is because of an idmap allocation issue. The syntax for idmap allocation in smb.conf seems to change between 3.0, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4. I have also tried

interdomain trusts: known to work on v3.5.4?
Greetings! I'm having problems with winbind and interdomain trusts. I've done alot of searching on the topic and there appears to be alot of folk out there with the same problem, but not any solutions. Environment is CentOS v5.6 with yumable samba3x-winbind-3.5.4-0.70 on x86_64. Specifically, the host is joined (successfully) to A: [ehvozda at AD-test samba]$ sudo wbinfo -t checking

interdomain trusts / wbinfo and listent_recv: returned no users
As per earlier post, I was having problems getting trusts setup between my Samba domain (3.0.x PDC, 3.4.x BDC on Solaris 10) and two Active Directory domains (each in a separate forest.) One domain is a test Win 2003 PDC in native Win 2003 mode, the other is a Win 2008 system also in native Win 2003 mode. To summarize some of the progess- things work better if the Samba 3.4 is the PDC,
