IMAP ANNOTATE Extension RFC5257: priority on roadmap
Hi Timo,
congrats to the merger with OX.
Currently the implementation of RFC 5257, ANNOTATE-EXPERIMENT-1, has
only low priority on http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Roadmap
I want to explain a scenario that would benefit from annotation support
to - maybe - increase the priority in your roadmap:

Optimus and Nvidia
I need to buy a Sager 5125 laptop immediately and I am concerned about the
Optimus setup in this model.
It comes with a Nvidia 330M/Intel Hybrid.
I want to use this with Fedora 13. I do not care if I can switch. I just
want it to work. I can also deal with only the onboard graphics working in
linux.
Do you think the HDMI output will work or I will need the 330M driver for
that?
I see nvidia

Delayed variable expansion for P_PATH/P_STRING is missing (loadparm.c)
Hi,
the section "Global Parameters" of the current
http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsyncd.conf.html says:
"You may use references to environment variables in the values of
parameters. String parameters will have %VAR% references expanded as
late as possible (when the string is used in the program), allowing for
the use of variables that rsync sets at connection time, such as

Discrepency between R and MlwiN
When playing around fitting unconditional growth models using R and MlwiN today, I produced two different sets of estimates that I can't reconcile and wondered if anyone here has an idea:
The data is two-level repeated measures data with measures nested within child. There are two measures per child. I've fit an unconditional growth model as in Singer and Willet (2003) that allows for

Extending Rails classes
Whereabouts would I want to put a Ruby file that extends a Rails class?
Say, adding a method to ActiveRecord::Base or something along those
lines. I''ve read that those classes go in /lib, but my application
doesn''t seem to see the changes I''ve made. Obviously I''m missing
something...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Acts_as_authenticated
Hello
I have been trying a number of security/login generators recently. My
favourite so far is the Acts_as_authenticated. I like the fact that it
is only billed as a starting point and doesn''t try to do everything.
I would like to add security roles to it, so that some of my controller
actions can only be used by an admin role. Has anybody implemented this

trouble installing CentOS
greetings, We are a couple of new CentOS users here. We have previous
experience with RH and FC installations. Now we'd like to move up in the
world to CentOS.
We successfully installed the 3-CD set of CentOS-3 on a laptop this
weekend. When the script instructed us to remove the installation media
and reboot, we did that and then the system hung after text was
displayed showing the stopping

need help
Dear Vorbis folks,
I use a 64bit MacBookPro, have installed the XiphQT to Library/Components as instructions say.
I have set iTunes to accept 32 bit as instruction say.
Using Safari, on a page (in Wikipedia), when I click on ?Play?, a new tab/browser window opens and I get the message: ?Missing Plug-In?. The url of the page where I get the ?Missing Plug-In? message is:

Quantreg-rq crashing trouble
Hi
I am using the quantreg package for median regression for a large series
of subsets of data. It works fabulously for all but one subset. When it
reaches this subset, R takes the command and never responds. I end up
having to kill R and restart it.
It appears to be something with the particular data subset, but I can't
pinpoint the problem.
Here are some details

subsetting with by() or other function??
I think I must be missing something obvious, but I'm having trouble
getting a data transformation to work on groupings of data within a data
frame (csss3) as defined by 2 factors (population, locid). The data are
sorted by year within locid within population and I want to lag another
variable (dbc), i.e, shift them down by 1 row replacing the first row with
NA, within groups defined by

Fw: quantreg installation and conflicts with R 2.15.2
Just noticed that I get a similar error about object 'kronecker' in
"Matrix" package when trying to load "lme4". So this is a more pervasive
problem.

ANOVA in quantreg - faulty test for 'nesting'?
I am trying to implement an ANOVA on a pair of quantile regression models in
R. The anova.rq() function performs a basic check to see whether the models
are nested, but I think this check is failing in my case. I think my models
are nested despite the anova.rqlist() function saying otherwise. Here is an
example where the GLM ANOVA regards the models as nested, but the quantile

warnings about factor levels dropped from predict.glm
I am helping a student with some logistic regression analyses and we are
getting some strange inconsistencies regarding a warning about factor
levels being dropped when running predict.glm(, newdata = ournewdata) on
the logistic regression model object. We have checked multiple times that
the factor levels have been defined similarly on both data sets (one used
to estimate model and the newdata)

socket options
Do the socket options still work with versions of samba above 1.9.16p10? I
get error messages both on the command line and in the smb.log file that say:
Unknown socket option IPTOS_LOWDELAY
Unknown socket option TCP_NODELAY
Here is my smb.conf Global parameter entry:
socket options = IPTOS_LOWDELAY TCP_NODELAY
Do these have to be compiled into the Samba program?
If these are outdated

That is terminology from Computer Science. (Decades ago?) It is familiar. Not invented by Cisco. As in, producer-consumer, from the same time. Those were all different paradigms for client-server relationships. There must be Wikipedia citations that can be consulted. As I recall, there were distinctions, such as, producer-consumer were tightly bound, where the producer had no purpose
