And nox, it's my question:
I'm using smbldap-tools 0.8.2 from samba.idealx.org. In all the docs I read
about it, I read that I must put these lines in smb.conf:

Samba and vland
Hi all,
I'm running samba 2.2 as a domain master on redhat7.3 os. Just recently
we started subneting the network. I have entries for the domain in the
dns servers. But for some reason I can't autenticate to the domain. I
have noticed when I try to authenticate that the requests are not
reaching the server. Every time i try to logon I check the samba log
files but i see no activities.

Windows access to samba share
I am new to the list so my problem is likely redundant.
I am using Samba on a remote Linux system to offer Windows clients access to
data being collected by a real-time system. The real-time data collection
systems are built on the RH 8 Linux distribution. I also have one that was
built using the RH Fedora Core 1 distribution. The data collection software

Error when creating user with Samba 3.0 & LDAP
Hy,
I just install OpenLDAP 2.0 and Samba 3.0. (both from RPM).
I used tools from idealx (found in src from Samba 3.0) to populate the ldap
tree. My ldap is empty when i start, i just added index and samba.schema in
slapd.conf.
I used net rpc getsid to generate my domain SID and put in the
smbldap_conf.pm with others options (dc, ou, dn etc.)
I didn't get any error with this tool, it create

ldapsmb
Hello List,
i try to build up a samba/ldap pdc using samba 3.0.1 and ldapsmb-1.0. It seems
that ldapsmb-1.0 did not work with samba 3.0 in non compat mode. Searching for a
newer version was frustrating. The only thing i found were dead links to
ldapsmb-1.2.
If i look inside all this samba mailing lists, it seems that erverybody is using
ldapsmb with samba 3.0. Something is going wrong and i

smbldap-tools and joining workstation to domain
Hi,
I've reported this before but I guess I'll have to do it again, since
it's not fixed yet or I'm understanding something wrong here.
The problem is that smbldap-useradd -w 'machinename' will add only
posixAccount entrys into ldap but it should add both posixAccount and
sambaSAMAccount entrys.
So if one doesn't add correct machine account entrys manually to ldap

Samba experts,
I am using Samba 3.0.8 on an AIX 5.1 system with ldap authentication. I
have ldap working so that users can authenticate in their samba account via
ldap. However, I am trying to figure out the best method for allowing
users to change their ldap samba account password.
What is the best method to allow end users to change their LM/NT
passwords for Samba via LDAP?

My server's IP is 192.168.9.10/24. I have set up a dns server (bind9)
for my domain named "mik". It's a local domain for testing only. There

ldap passwd sync not working
Hi, there!
When my XP users try to change passwords, they get a message saying that
password has been changed. That's not true!
NT and LM passwords are changed but unixPassword isn't.
Look at this openldap.log lines:
