A domain controller for the domain could not by contacted (2.2.3a-12.3 for Debian)
Hello, I'm having problems using Samba as an primary domain controller. I am using debian woody as our platform. The version of samba is "2.2.3a-12.3 for Debian" and i followed the instructions which can be found on the following url: http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/eserver/tutorials/samba/. In short this covers: - creating the config file - creating the users /

Mounting Snapshots
Hello I am doing a research project (http://www.ites-project.org/) and want to be able to mount VM images (all kinds of VMs, starting with VirtualBox). For that libguestfs seems perfect. I am already able to mount the base HD, but I was not able to additionally mount the overlaying Snapshot files. Is there a way to mount several HD files onto each other ? NET_SAMLOGON issue
Hi all, I'm having a little trouble with my Samba setup. :-( I hope some SMB protocol guru will be able to say to me what's going wrong! I must apologize as it's a bit long and heavy in your mailbox, but this is not a trivial issue and i think it requires some explanations to be fully understood. So let's go! Here is my setup: - I use Samba 3.0.1-pre1 as PDC. Domain is called

ldapsam_compat & machine accounts
Hello everybody, I'm asking myself a rather simple issue (i hope it hasn't already be explained somewhere). I'm using ldapsam_compat on 3.0.1pre3(+Debian patches & smbldap-tools 0.8.1) to store both user accounts and machine accounts. It works just fine, but there still is something that i find quite odd. My smb.conf contains: add machine script =

Setting "password must change" for more than one user
Hello all, I'm using Samba 3 with ldapsam_compat and i have a bunch of users (~ 150). I'm trying to find a way to set 'password must change' attribute to a given value to all users of my domain, so that all be forced to reset their passwords at the same time. Is there an "easy" way to do that, better than editing ldap database "by hand" or writing a custom

TeX distribution on Windows
I'm looking for a Windows distribution of TeX that works with R, after a few years' absence from Windows. On Duncan Murdoch's Rtools page fptex is still recommended, but it turns out that fptex is "defunct" as of May 2005, see http://www.metz.supelec.fr/~popineau/xemtex-7.html So, what is suggested? TUG (tug.org) recommends something called proTeXt, which is said to be

[ANNOUNCE] fonttosfnt 1.1.0
Hot on the heels of the 2018 release, here's another fonttosfnt release to get your new year going. See, it doesn't always take a decade to run a release script and throw some tarballs at a server. Sometimes a year and a bit is sufficient. fonttosfnt is a commandline tool that wraps bitmap fonts into a truetype wrapper. This release includes a few code changes that warrant the minor

We use cmake and ninja with clang to build. What do you people think would be the cleanest way to know which version of clang is used, on a user’s machine, to build those binaries.

Suddenly one printer stops to print
Hi all, I'm still a young man having trouble with his fresh new Samba 3 setup. I've got another small issue with Samba. Our Samba 3.0.2-2 (Debian Sarge) is acting as a PDC, but also hosts a few printers shares, with cups. Suddenly today only ONE of our printers stopped to work. From an XP Pro SP1 Client, we cannot print anymore. An attempt to print a test page fails, and here is what

Issues with DummyCGSCCPass used for IPRA
Hi, There are two relevant hooks for you immutable pass: 1) releaseMemory() 2) doFinalization() Are you looking at the first one? I think you should act on the second instead and it should solve your issue. — Mehdi > On Dec 8, 2016, at 10:58 AM, Maxime Chevalier-Boisvert via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > > We have our own subtarget, with its own pipeline

Issues migrating to xen 4.1
Hi, We just migrated xen on gentoo on amd64 from 4.0 to 4.1 and encountered a few issues that were not documented. Here is how we solved them and what issues are remaining: 1. Our config files were referring to the LVM devices like /dev/vg/domU-root with disk = [ ''phy:vg/domU-root,sda1,w'' ]. This does not work anymore, we have to include ''/dev/'': disk = [
