My samba PDC is using the tdbsam backend and, for the most part is working flawlessly. However, when using smbpasswd to add samba accounts, I

[PATCH] Group mapping primary group SID update
Hi all ! This is a patch for Group mapping bug #1 reported here : http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2004-January/034057.html It activates users' primary group SID update when adding/modifying/deleting a group mapping. It patches utils/net_groupmap.c (net_groupmap_add, net_groupmap_modify, net_groupmap_delete) and can be applied to samba-3.0.2rc1. net_groupmap_add : Scan users

Vampire and spaces
Hi all. I'm having another go at using the vampire functionality to move our NT4 domain to samba. I've hit the same problem as 3 years ago - spaces in names ( group names for us ). I believe there are some useradd scripts floating around that deal with this, but I can't find them ( spent 1/2 an hour on google, honest ). Does anyone have one handy? How about adding scripts like

I've been trying more commands, and if I run tdbedit -e=tdbsam (to export the smbpasswd to tdbsam style), I get this error : tdb_update_sam: Failing to store a SAM_ACCOUNT for [root]

Failed to initialise SAM_ACCOUNT for user
I'm trying to create samba user accounts for users that don't have accounts on the machine. I get the following error when using 'smbpasswd -a <username>'.
