Hello ! I have problem using run kinit (kerberos) on Solaris client against Windows2003 for auth a Samba-Share. When I use the command 'kinit username@domain.local' I keep getting a 'kinit: KDC reply did not match expectations while getting initial credentials' error message. I know that I am getting connected and that the password is correct and received by the Windows 2003

I am experiencing data loss on a CIFS share with Samba 3.6.3. I am running Debian Sid on x86. I mount the share with the following line in my fstab: //server/share /mnt/share cifs auto,users,rw,gid=50,dir_mode=0775,file_mode=0777,domain=DOMAIN,credentials=/root/share.credentials The user in the credential file is in the proper domain. GID 50 is "staff", which my user is a member

Domain Logon Credential Caching
Folks, This posting is made so that others who search for infromation on how to configure Samba for username and password caching will find it. Samba does not control client-side password caching. Caching of domain logon credentials is a client-side activity. There are registry settings on the Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Profesional clients that control logon credential caching.

Hello everybody. I have a strange problem with cifs and Samba share. I have a Qnap NAS server (TS-109) and I would like to have a private share where I could keep my stuff and access them through Windows and Linux. But I have an odd problem and I can't tell what's wrong. I can write new files on a share, I can update them but I can't write on special occasions. And because of this

In one word: DONT! Tried it once and realmd moved the DC to the Computer OU in AD. There it no longer is a DC and nothing worked for us... As it is already joind you don't need realmd at all. Just configure sssd.conf and start sssd. However, I would not recommend that. We have since switched to winbind as this is already running and with the sernet packages can not be installed alongside

Meta-Analysis of proportions
Dear colleagues, I'm conducting a meta-analysis of studies evaluating adherence of HIV-positive drug users into AIDS treatment, therefore I'm looking for some advice and syntax suggestion for running the meta-regression using proportions, not the usual OR/RR frequently used on RCT studies. Have already searched already several handbooks, R-manuals, mailing lists, professors, but... not

I had a test environment with a few hundreds of users using Windows 7 under a samba 3 domain. They had the registry tweaks required to join a samba 3 domain. I followed the classicupgrade migration to samba 4 and everything seemed to be ok. In my scenario I have a DNS server different from the samba server, and the DNS server forwards all queries to my samba domain to the samba server. The samba

IPMI serial over lan disconnects seem to trigger extlinux reboots
Hi, I hope somebody can help me with this problem. I don't know whether it's a problem with my configuration or a bug or feature in extlinux. I am using an IPMI 2.0 serial-over-lan console to connect to a system with an Intel S3200SHL motherboard. The first line of my extlinux.conf file looks like this: serial 0 57600 0x003 I am using ipmitool to access the console, like so:

Dear R helpers, I have a curious problem, which is that a program I have written in R crashes R, unpredictably. When I say that the program crashes R, I mean that it causes R to terminate, completely. But, the operating system (Windows) continues OK. The program loops around a randomForest regression. I am trying to use randomForest to predict the diagnosis for a set of patients with dementia. I
