BDC to a SAMBA PDC. Did I read this correctly? Has anything changed
since then.
If it can't be done, can anyone recommend another solution that has
worked for them? I also would like it if SAMBA, Courier, Postfix could
share the same username/password file. All of the above I mentioned
(According to my reading) support the reading of /etc/passwd, so why
would one want to use PAM or LDAP

converting from courier questions
I currently run postfix and courier on my mail servers with squirrelmail.
The problem with courier is it seems to run so slow. The webmail takes
forever to load if you have many mails. I have this set up in virtual
domains with all longin and path info in an mysql database. I just joined
the list and DID google before asking, hope this isn't a common question.
With courier it looks for a

Received header only showing localhost
Hi all,
I?m a new dovecot user and a first-time poster so please forgive me if this
is a stupid question, or even (as I suspect it might be) not really a
Dovecot question.
My system is the fairly typical mix of postfix, amavis-new, and Dovecot. For
some reason I?ve noticed that when I look at the mail headers for delivered
messages the Received header is missing the detail of any external

migrating from Courier
I've been running postfix/courier-ssl/MySQL/postfixadmin for years, but since I am in the process of building a new server I decide to reexamine my options. I'm sticking with postfix, but I've decided to move from courier to dovecot because everyone is telling me it's much faster, and I really dislike courier's SASL setup and integration with other services.
Of course, I have

Courier to dovecot migrations
Dear All,
I saw some topics discussed in forums about this, but none with my
problems :(
Currently we have a mailserver postfix with courier-imap-4.1.1, and
courier-pop3 and courier-authlib.
Our Maildir's are written in the users home directory (ex: ~/Maildir)
I'm now migrating the mailserver to other cluster and installing with
dovecot. We're also moving the Maildir's to

Postfix + MySQL + IMAP + Squirrelmail + Virtual Domains + Web Management.
Greetings,
I have long read and followed this list. I have also spent a
considerable time with our good friend Google.
I am a long time Sendmail user, about 15 yrs now. I have recently been
looking into the newer services and the Postfix setup seems to be a very
nice one. I am migrating a mail server from 3.x to 4.x and was intending
on trying out Postfix on the 4.x server. I have found

Help please: Migrating Courier imap - Dovecot (Postfix virtual mailbox domains)
I'm trying to migrate from qmail to postfix.
The original server is combo of qmail and Courier imap (no pop mailboxes)
I have a working Postfix config and had imap working with Courier imap on
the new server. I thought I would experiment with Dovecot as it has some
good press.
I have moved the contents of my original maildir's to the new server and
ste permissions and group membership

I just migrated from Postfix/Courier/Maildrop to
Postfix/Dovecot/Deliver/Sieve and don't unterstand the right syntax

but nothing was usefull for me (or i didn't unterstand it)
I installed the latest Dovecot-Sieve (hg).
Examples from my maildrop config:

Some POP3 questions
Hi everyone
Been spending the whole day on the wiki and in the list archives on using
dovecot for POP3 mail. I'd like to present my findings and ask for some
feedback.
Our current software setup:
* Courier-IMAP running POP3/IMAP
* Postfix MTA
* MySQL backend for user and login info
As for the system layout, it looks like this:
* NFS server which is the same server that houses single

pam-mysql and freebsd 4.7
Hi everyone,
I'm using freebsd 4.7 and want to authenticate some services using the
pam-mysql module.
I can authenticate successfully when I use the normal out-of-the-box
methods, but when I try to use the pam-mysql module, I get nothing...
I've got postfix running, and postfix is succesfully using mysql thanks to
it's great usability. But when I want to use Courier IMAP/POP to work

Multiple identities
Hi,
I recently moved from courier-imap to dovecot, to be able to work with
managesieve. I use version 1.2.5, on suse 10.3. I used the script to
migrate the courier maildir to dovecot format.
It seems to work fine except for one problem : I use a number of
aliasses and with Thunderbird I can select which alias (e-mail-address)
to use as my identity when sending a mail.
I sniffed with wireshark,

migrate courier to dovecot script - questions about directory structure
Hi all,
Im in the process of moving about 7000 users across from courier to dovecot.
Both Maildir setups.
The migration script works a treat, but I need a slight change to it.
Couriers directory structure looks ike this:
/home/vmail/<domain.com.au>/<username>/cur/
/home/vmail/<domain.com.au>/<username>/new/
/home/vmail/<domain.com.au>/<username>/tmp/
