This is a check for FreeBSD's acl_get_perm_np() function (FreeBSD/TrustedBSD implement non-POSIX.1e functions with a _np (non-portable) suffix). The Linux ACL library includes an acl_get_perm() implementation so not having this function should not be a concern. ...Juergen

ACL fully functional?
I have compiled both my kernel (2.4.17) and samba (2.2.3a) to support ACL/EAs. It looks like it has gone well, but I get one message that worries me, but I don't know if it should or not. checking whether to support ACLs... checking for acl_get_file in -lacl... yes checking for ACL support... yes Using posix ACLs checking for acl_get_perm_np... no As you can see, the last line is where my

File System ACLs: Where to go from here in FreeBSD?
The FreeBSD ACL implementation is currently based on a late POSIX.1e draft, and is similar in functionality to the ACL support in Solaris, IRIX, and Linux. It was developed along a similar timeline to the Linux ACL support, and Andreas and I chatted a fair amount along the way so the parallels are strong -- in fact, the Samba ACL support is almost identical, and the ACL API man pages on

Dear 6-STABLE users, In the next 2-3 weeks, I plan to MFC support for CAPP security eventing auditing from 7-CURRENT to 6-STABLE. The implementation has been running quite nicely in -CURRENT for several months. Right now, I'm just waiting on a confirmation from Sun regarding formal allocation of a BSM header version number so as to avoid accidental version number conflicts in the

Samba 2.2.5 and ACL
Hi, I've a problem in running configure for samba 2.2.5. I'm using redhat 7.3, with ACL support from http://acl.bestbits.at/. I've tested that the ACL is working on the filesystem, and samba can find it too. Here's the error: checking if large file support can be enabled... yes checking whether to support ACLs... checking for acl_get_file in -lacl... yes checking for ACL

Default Posix ACLs not honoured
Hi all, we are experiencing difficulties with posix ACLs using samba 3.0.28 on a Debian 4.0 etch server. The goal is to not let the Windows clients manage the ACLs but instead set the permissions from the Samba server, hence smb.conf says "nt acl support = no". Problems arise when I have a directory with default permissions for a named group, e.g. # file: ACLTest # owner: juergen #

make errors, rsync 2.6.9 with acls patch
Hi. I'm attempting to compile rsync 2.6.9 with both the acls & xattr patches on an MacBook pro (ie: Intel processor), with the latest Apple Developer Tools. While this is OS X client, I've enabled acls via "sudo /usr/bin/fsaclctl -p / -e" and rebooted, prior to attempting to compile rsync. Is there something else inherent in OS X Server perhaps, that I'm still

Trusted Path Execution
I would like to know that there is or is not a way to prevent users from executing binaries that are not owned by root or that the user is in a particular group. Is this something I can achieve with TrustedBSD's MAC framework?

[LLVMdev] [llvm] r201072 - [CMake] Introduce llvm_add_library().
No, it has the wrong value. I tried it with cmake 2.8.9 and 2.8.12.2. Both of them set the variable to “.so”.
