syslinux/isolinux capabilities
I'm wondering if it's possible to use isolinux on a bootable CDR to boot an ISO9660 disk image off of the CDR's filesystem. I'm trying to make a multi-boot CD which is capable of booting both floppy images and smaller ISO9660 images (such as the debian netinst or DSL - damnsmall linux), and I am wondering if isolinux is capable of doing this (or something similar to this -

New Firewall setup recommendations?
Hello all. I''m about to set up a new firewall on an old 400 MHz K6-2 machine. What is the recommended, or most common way to go about it? I was thinking of doing a MINIMUM install of RedHat 8 (the option where they actually say "used for setting up things like firewalls") and then installing shorewall on top of that. Would this leave me with anything crucial missing in my

69.x.x.x network in rfc1918
I came across a problem when one of our clients was not able to access any of the servers on our network. This person has never connected to us before and now for this first time was trying to do it from his home is Houston, TX using earthlink cable service provided by Time Warner. All this information, I think, is important because when I started examining my shorewall logs I found out

[GSoC 2019] Apply the Clang Static Analyzer to LLVM-based projects - final report
Sylvestre Ledru looks after the scan-build web report, but I understand it hit a few issues back in June (it normally updates a few times a week). We also discussed whether there was an automated way for those updates to email the summary to the cfe/llvm dev lists, indicating total warnings, and highlighting any new ones (we punted that discussion until the GSoC was done - btw thank you

process hang
Hello, We have installed a linux Mandrake system with Samba 2.2.3 acting as a PDC. We need to access to some files on a Windows 2000 Server (acting as a terminal server). We have created the share on the windows station and we are able to connect to the windows directory from the linux system. First we have use smbmount to mount the share on the windows system. But when we listed the files

Function some()
Dear R-devel list members, Probably not an opportune time for this, given the immanent release of 2.0.0, but I was just reminded (while preparing a lecture) of a function that I find useful and that I though might be a candidate for the utils package: The function, which I call some(), behaves like head() and tail(), from which it is adapted, except that it samples from an object (e.g., rows of a

Table Inheritance based on a function
Hello, we have a problem in a CMS project that we believe is basic for RoR developement and could concern others as well - or have already: RoR implements the ''Single Table Inheritance'' (STI) Pattern: http://www.martinfowler.com/eaaCatalog/singleTableInheritance.html .. through its ''ActiveRecord'' ORM. The Fowler example mentions a ''type''

Filesystem "somewhat" destroyed - need help for recovery/fixing
Hello I think, I somewhat destroyed my btrfs filesystem on my Ubuntu 13.04 kernel 3.8.0-25-lowlatency system. It got destroyed, because the system was hanging for some other reason and I had to remove power... When I try to mount my filesystem (there''s only one, with a few subfilesystems), the system crashes. Also btrfsck dies; always like this: a@ask-home:~$ sudo
