Help needed! tricky browsing configuration and BUG_REPORT
hi there, can please anybody help me solve my little problem ? I have about a dozen separated networks connected to my local lan via isdn dial-up (on-demand). I am running linux kernel 2.0.36 and samba 2.0.0 (2.0.2 doesn't work either). There is a linux-box running samba 2.0.0 connected to every remote network. The Clients are always Win95/Win98/WinNT. Local browsing seems to work perfectly.

files on shared ntfs-disk in linux-pc are not accessible
Hi, I have spent the entire evening, trying to access a ntfs-drive in my linux-box from my WinXP-Notebook but I just can't get it to work (and it's 3:50 a.m. now!) I have put a 160GB harddisk into a linux box (LFS 5.1.1, console only) and mounted it: /dev/hdd1 /mnt/toffi ntfs ro,uid=christoph,gid=christoph,umask=022 0 0 To check wether the data on the disk is ok, I then put in a

Re: How do I force Samba to update shared printer list? (2.2.6-pre2)
Try : killall -s HUP /usr/sbin/smbd is causes that smbd rereads its config. mystified by interaction between krb5.conf, smb.conf, and winbindd
I am stumped here. I am a novice at using samba to do MS Active Directory stuff, but I have read everything I could find in the HOWTO collection and on the linux.samba cache of the list and am still stuck. A bit of background... I have set up a Windows 2003 server as a domain controller here and configured it to be the DNS for a ficticious domain for internal use only. The domain functional

OT: Home NAS device
I am looking for something that I can hack away like a NSLU2 but that thing only has one disc and worst of all its 100m interface. Anyone know of a device you can load Linux on that has maybe 2 discs like a NAS200 with a gig nic? I need a quiet device to act as a tftp-dhcp/web/dns system. I thought of just building one from a new Soekris board, or even a mini itx but hope there was something

AW: R function help arranged in categorical order ?
There is a very nice Search Engine, with Keywords arranged by topic, that comes with R. If you are under Windows (and have Html help installed), you can find this in the Help menu, under "Html help". (The relevant file can also be found as ...\doc\html\search\SearchEngine.html.) Maybe this helps, Heinrich. > -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- > Von: Neil Osborne

Help in grouping time stamped data and general stats help
Hi, I am a new comer to R. I want to carrying out some exploratory data analysis on some financial data which has been time stamped. The data is a Microsoft database and I can access it using the RODBC package. The data consists of a 5 minute sampling of market prices. However, there are periods for which there is no data (these periods occur randomly), and is typically caused by a system

flac files
I think the confusion stems partly from the ambiguity of the term "audio disc". Strictly speaking, an "audio disc" would be a Red Book CD-DA disc, which uses a specific format for coding audio. These are the discs that you can buy at the music store and that any music CD player can play. These discs have music in straight linear PCM only. On the other hand, a "data

Update data in text file with data in dataframe
I think we need a bit more info on the data layout and what decision rule you are using to update the Date of Service. Are you just updating a record to provide the most recent DoS or are you correcting errors? [PATCH][VT] Multithread IDE device model ( was: RE: [PATCH]Make IDE dma tranfer run in another thread inqemu)
Keir: This is to to make the IDE device model multithreading so that the VMX domain IO access completion (triggering DMA operation) can be asynchronize with the completion of DMA operation. With this patch we get 8%--14% performance gain for kernel build. Thanks, eddie Yang, Xiaowei wrote: > Originally in qemu when a IDE dma transfer is started which is > triggered by access to 0xc000
