T100P -- data?
Hi, all. I'm thinking of provisioning my (non-PRI) T1 to be part data,
part voice (currently, it's only voice). With the T100P, how do I get it
to "do" data? Just load up the HDLC module, and it gets an IP address?
Or...? I tried RTFM'ing, but there just doesn't seem to be much on it
(leastwise, that's readily findable).
Thanks much,

Polycom dhcpd.conf? [Or, "Some day, I'll figure this all out."]
I'm RTFM'ing, but I can't figure out how the dhcpd.conf file specifies the
boot server, and how it differentiates between whether it's FTP or
TFTP. I've
tried option 66/next-server, and option 150, to no avail. And the docs
just don't -- leastwise, in the way I'm reading them -- make sense.
I've checked the admin guide, I've checked the wiki... no dice.

Printer: User Intervention Required - Use Printer Offline
For some reason, I cannot get samba (or Win98, depending on how you look
at it...) to allow a win98 client to print.
I search the list archives, but I didn't find anything similar. So here
goes.
Symptoms:
- Win98 client can access fileshares OK. The printers show up OK as well
in network neighbourhood.
- On Linux, printing (lprng) works OK.
- In win98, e.g.

Samba PDC/LDAP Questions
Howdy all...
I am trying to use two different samba servers in a test environment
such that a Win98 SE user logs into his/her workstation,
authenticates/authorizes themself via the PDC, and then mounts a
different samba server to store his/her files. By files I *guess* I mean
profile as this is where I assume that this user's personal files will
end up.
Question 1: Is this assumption that a

Remote-logging nginx? (or other non-syslog-enabled stuff)
I'm looking for suggestions as to a good general method of
remote-logging services such as nginx or anything else which doesn't
support syslog natively.
I'm aware that there's an nginx patch, and we're evaluating this. It
may be the way we fly.
However there are other tools which may not have a patch for which
remote logging would be useful. If there's a general soution

Back with my UID problems
Greeting-
I had to take a break from mucking with samba because some other things
came up.
Let me recap the situation:
. I have an existing network of various unix boxes that use NIS and NFS
at the moment.
. I have to drop some windows boxes into the network.
. For policy reasons certain staff are in the local password file on
each server, everyone else is in NIS.
. UIDs are in sync

samba nad ldap
Hi everyone!
I have (i think) a fully functional tls enabled samba ldap server. I
used the documenation on www.idealx.org. I can make users and computers
with smbldap-tools but i can't add Windows computers to the domain in
the client end.
smbldap-useradd -w w-eddie
ldapsearch -x generates among other things:
# w-eddie$, Computers, dbb.su.se

Hello,
I've been trying to get part of a disk visible from a HP J5600 Unix machine (hostname = oed209, IP = 192.168.33.209) running HP-UX 10.26 and Samba v1.9.18p7 to a MicronPC XKE Laptop (hostname = oed123, IP = 192.168.33.123) running W98SE.
Net masks on both machines are set to 255.255.255.0.
Neither machine uses DHCP.

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Ady: You seem to be taking (copy$paste) parts and pieces from different resources.
Luke: Nope. The configuration works fine with PXE 2.01 clients, it's the UEFI PXE 3.2 that is having issues with the dhcp requests. The gospel is the Intel PXE 3 spec I'm RTFMing now. No copy and paste, I just started with someone elses configuration file that claims to support UEFI - or at least hopes to

error in logs after upgrade to 3.0.1
This is probably pretty simple. The following error appears in my logs since
upgrading from version 2.2.8 to 3.0.1:

I'm guessing that my user's primary group

Issue when migrating samba domain server to new hardware and samba version
I?m setting up our new server that will handle file
storage. The new system is redhat running samba 3.0.23c.
We currently have this same service running on DEC server
running version 3.0.20 without any issues.
Here is the smb.conf for both?

Cannot make Windows join Samba domain
Hi,
I'm having an issue trying to make a Windows machine sambaserveroin a Samba domain. Samba is running with LDAP backend (OpenLDAP). When I try to join the domain, Windows says that the machine account does not exist. The machine account, however, is successfully created in the LDAP directory after the join fails. When I try to join again, Windows says that the account already exists.

Font too large for widget with wine 20010824
Hello,
I just upgraded to the new version and suddenly an app that had always
worked fine started misbehaving.
The problem is that the text is now too big for the widget inside
which it appears. Unfortunately, the widget has no scrollbars and the
app doesn't allow me to change font size.
Is there a way I can change font metrics? Sorry if this is a simple
case of RTFMing...
Thanks,
