SAMBA not working as AD member server
I am trying to get SAMBA working as a member server with a Windows
2008R2 AD server, CentOS 6.6 and Samba 3.6
The two following commands work fine:
kinit administrator at TESTNET.LOCAL
net ads join ?U administrator
however wbinfo -u only shown local accounts
and getent passwd returns nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Could not get Unix ID for SID
I am in the process of setting up a CentOS 6.6 w/ Samba 3.6 and am
getting an error "Cound not get unix ID for SID xxxxxx" Am using the
same config files as I did on another similar install just changing the
domain name. I was successful in joining the domain and wbinfo -u
returns the list of all the users on the AD. I have installed MS

null pointer dereference in iov_iter_copy_from_user_atomic while updating rpm packages
Hi,
While updating my fedora rawhide installation, I got the Ooops listed
at the end of the Email.
Is this a known bug (I didn''t find anything specific), or should I file a bug?
Thank you in advance, Clemens

idmap range not specified for domain
I have just setup samba ver 3.6.23-14 on CentOS 6.6 as a member server
to Windows 2008R2 ADS. Things seem to be working however looking at the
log files there is an error in the log.winbindd-idmap file indicating
that "idmap range not specified for domain SERVER2.
My setup is as follows:
Windows 2008R2 server name is "server"
CentOS hostname is "server2"

Winbind syslog errors and Domain Local Groups
Hello all.
I'm relatively new to Samba, and haven't been able to track down a
solution to this particular problem.
I use Samba/Winbind to authenticate FreeBSD machines against a
Windows 2003 Active Directory. That all works fine. The problem is
that groups in the AD of type "Security Group - Domain Local" are
causing winbindd a lot of grief. Every time the winbindd daemon is

NTLMSSP Sign/Seal - using NTLM1
So, curiously, it *appears* the following may have sped up the mount:

Manually modified the smb.conf file, where the following changes were
made: Added:

client NTLMv2 auth = yes
-
client min protocol = SMB2_02

parameters (ntlmssp,vers=3.0)

Pigeonhole/sieve possibly corrupting mails
Hi!

Yes. And it's probably right, but I wonder what could have changed it. I
looked around inotify and it seems there is no way to let a file being
watched and get program names/pids of processes accessing it.

Pigeonhole/sieve possibly corrupting mails
Well, I tried.
for i in {1..50}; do echo x | mail -s test krakonos+test at krakonos.org;
done
and running lsof. Didn't catch a single lockfile. lsof runs about 1s, so
there is little chance of catching it. However, I was reading the mails
while they were being delivered, and didn't trigger the problem.
I'll let it happen once more, so I know it's still reproducible and add

vmx+ssh conversion failure -- read failed: would block
Hi,
I noticed some issues with the ssh transport mode where the virt-v2v
would fail because of issue with libssh2. I see a lot of following
errors before the conversion terminates:

2.0.6pre3 and FreeBSD 3.3-RELEASE
2.0.6pre3 compiles and installs under FreeBSD 3.2-RELEASE; however, throughput
from an NT 4 SP6 workstation with domain security and only TCP_NODELAY
as a socket option is clocking around 200K/sec for large files (65MB).
Hardware is PPro200, single CPU kernel (never have gotten 2.0.5 or later
to work SMP), Adaptec 2944UW/3 Quantum 9GB Atlas II wide diff drives (clock
9MB/sec using bonnie), Intel

can't get samba 3.0.14a to work with ldap..part 2: smaba 3.0.15
Hi...
I posted a few days ago that I was having trouble getting samba 3.0.14a to
work with ldap. I switched up to 3.0.15pre2 and had much the same
trouble. I have been following the instructions in
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-Guide.pdf, but I am still having
troubles.
Here is what happens when i run smbldap-populate:
mercury:/usr/local/samba/sbin# ./smldap-populate -a root -k 0 -m 0

Dovecot deliver logging problem and procmail
Hello!
Currently I'm trying to integrate dovecot's deliver program into procmail.
So basically I'd write a patch for procmail to deliver not directly into
the mbox file but delivering with the dovecot deliver program.
Do you think this is a good concept?
For testing I use the commands discussed below. Currently I'm having a
problem that deliver doesn't recognize the

sendmail + plain auth
I'm probably missing something obvious, but I can get sendmail to give me AUTH
PLAIN and LOGIN options.
What I have is fairly standard configuration. The relevant part of sendmail.mc
looks something like this:
define(`confCACERT_PATH',`/etc/ssl/certs')
define(`confCACERT',`/etc/ssl/ca-bundle.crt')
define(`confSERVER_CERT',`/etc/ssl/smtp.crt')

Samba 3.0.25b as a domain member to a Samba PDC
I've been using Samba for about 7 years of so, but have hit a hurdle I
just can't seem to figure out.
I want to setup samba domain member servers to be members of a samba
3.0.25 (NT4 type) domain. No windbind, LDAP, or any other of the more
complex authentication mechanism. This is the same functionality going
way back to Samba 2.2, or so. In fact, I successfully did this on samba

Hi there,
The installation of Openssl on my HP-UX 11.11 box went fine. When I execute
'ssh' command, the error shows: "ssh: connect to host testbox port 22:
Connection refused". Can you point me the solution. Thanks.

Question, how to coorelate snapshot ID's to the files that they represent?
Hi folks, first post :)
I'm running Redhat 6 x64 with ibvirt-0.10.2-18 and qemu-img-rhev-0.12.1.2-2.355
My question is, if I do something like the following..
[root@testbox ~]# virsh snapshot-list STIGtest
Name Creation Time State
------------------------------------------------------------
