Docs are hard to follow for port changing
Specifically, the instructions on the Samba3 doc file explain that I
must edit the following information (as did John):
Make an entry in /etc/services for a line called "swat". I've done
that, it's called "swat3", and it ports to 902/TCP (Yes, I realize it's
not the native port.)
Make the adjustment in the /etc/xinet[d].d/swat3 file to point to the
same port.

Changing SWAT port or removing 2.2.7
Some of you have already read about my newbie fortune with this Samba3
install. Thanks to those who answered my original questions.
Now I have something which I know is probably academic, and perhaps
still newbie-related. When I installed Samba3 on Friday, it took me a
little while to figure out that my names required adding a 3 to the end
(SWAT3, SAMBA3, TESTPARM3, et al). I did not uninstall

Samba SWAT 2.2.7 Doesn't Work in Redhat8.0?
Hello All Samba-list Members,
I have installed a Samba 2.2.7, the samba-latest.tar.gz, as a PDC on a
Redhat8.0 GNU/Linux server. ( Of course, I first uninstalled the original
samba that came with the Redhat installation CDs by rpm -e samba*.) The
installation was successful. Then I modified /etc/services and
/etc/xinetd.d/swat as suggested in the installation document uncompressed

Hello,
Bonjour,
C'est la ligne only_from = 127.0.0.1 qui provoque le probl?me.
Cette ligne sp?cifie que SWAT n'est accessible que depuis la machine en
elle-m?me.
Il suffit de bouger la ligne, red?marre xinetd et cela devrai fonctionner
