~ I just tried SWAT that comes with Samba 3.0.0, it keeps appending
the ldap suffix to the user, group and computer suffix and thus
corrupting my smb.conf

icecast and smp
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
~ I have just installed Ice cast and I really like it. I want to
stream a radio station which expects 6000 concurrent listener. I was
thinking of using an SMP machine with Linux running.
Does Ice cast make use of SMP, does anyone have sizing references .

Hi,
I am trying to broadcast a radio station with the source being the

Need mount -t smbfs to be world/group writable & not only root
Hi,
Need some pointers.
Currently using
mount -t smbfs -o username=xxx,pasword=xxx //servername/sharename /mnt/share
Since I can only mount as root, (not in /etc/fstab)
sudo mount -t smbfs -o username=xxx,pasword=xxx //servername/sharename
/mnt/share
Problem here is.. I can't get group or world writeable permission on the
share. It's a NTFS share but that is not a problem. I can

If the first LDAP server faild, the second can be used directly.
This server is a PDC server with more than 100 people connected and some
application required domain authentification for running.
For me is a critical server.

damn....
now everything works
samba recognises user "test_user" in group "users" AND "kids"....
i dunno why ?!?!!?
i did nothing, i just removed "valid users" from this share and reloaded
smb-conf...nothing special !
if i could reproduce it, it would be better then seeing it working now
and not knowing why....
but
thx very much for your patiance

What's means, can I have some problem with this configuration ?
Or it's just a speed problem ?

Réf. : Re: Re: Authenticateing DC's on an ldap backend... nobody knows how?
I know, but I want to say that samba manage machine group same as a other
group, not for Domain Users and Domain Admin group.
You can create a group for machine account but, I think that actually is
not very important for samba domain.
I can be mistaken.

elle-m?me.
Il suffit de bouger la ligne, red?marre xinetd et cela devrai fonctionner
