Machine failing to keep its trust with Domain Controller
Hi,
We have a Linux (RHEL 3.0, update 3) Samba 3 server which worked fine
for months
but suddently have trouble to keep its trust with the DC server.
The only way to recover is to reset the machine account from the Windows
DC side
and do a "net join" to the domain from the Linux side. The Linux machine
is able to
keep its "trust" with the domain exactly 7 days, which,

Method to verify existance of trust account?
I'm still fighting with getting a Samba server (RH Linux 7.2, kernel
2.4.9-21, samba 2.2.4) to join an NT domain (NT 4.0, SP6). Everything I've
read in the documentation indicates that this works well and readily, but I
cannot get it to work.
The error message received when attempting to join a domain is:
./smbpasswd -j TESTDOMAIN -r SMBTEST

samba and PDC don't trust
Hello people,
I've been reading along and found that document... however I still have
some trouble, which I do not really understand.
The things I have done:
- on the PDC I have deleted the name of my samba server and recreated it.
- next on the linux server I did: smbpasswd -r stromboli -j actuera.nl
I then get a message that goes like this:
root@intranet:/var/log/samba# smbpasswd -r

I've noticed that a few systems that I've upgraded to Samba 2.2.8 are
not able to change the machine account password.
I have security = domain and I am seeing entries like this in the log.

everything is working. wbinfo -t reports a good secret. users can access

However, this server is not able to change the password on it's machine

BUG REPORT: change_trust_account_password works in 2.0.7, fails in 2.2.3a through 2.2.8
I posted an earlier message about change_trust_account_password

I have been able to reproduce the error with

I can't seem to get 2.2.1 to even attempt to change the machine

Hellor, Samba Gurus,

Asterisk IVR and Call Center Agents
Hi,
We developed a somewhat complex Asterisk-based IVR for a client of ours. When I say 'somewhat complex' I mean that this IVR is highly integrated with a set of middle-ware applications that allow the caller to perform extensive functions while navigating the IVR.
This has been working great for the past year or so. However, now the client wants to add the ability for callers to be

the following problem occurs periodically (appr. once a week) here:
the number of smbd(s) will dramatically rise (up to 500 and more...)

are waiting for getting a lock:

Errors... unknown problem?
My network currently uses samba version 3.0.14 and doesn't seem to have any
problems but alot of my logs repeat the following error message:

2005/08/09 09:29:42 : change_trust_account_password: Failed to change

There shouldn't be any passwords changing.

Drop packets that have a source route flag set. This stops simpliest
redirection attacks and should be always set to yes.

Reassemble packet from fragments first and only after that apply firewalling
rulesets. Unless you have a really good reason not to do this ( and I am yet
