smbtools, existing users, etc...
Hello. I followed your discussion about smbtools etc. Now I would like to hear some concrete answers about them. I have my existing users in LDAP ( posixAccount schema ), and now I installed samba 3.0.0 and want to store samba user accounts in LDAP too. I included samba.schema. Is it possible to add samba part of user account to the already existing user account in LDAP? If yes, how do I

uid x sid on LDAP
Hi there, I'm the process of centralizing user authentication for a medium-sized network with a few Linux servers, some of them runnng samba. The idea is migrating all user definitions from both /etc/{passwd,shadow,groups} and samba tdb to a central LDAP directory. Most servers had the same set of users, but as each one was administered in isolation (no NIS not all samba servers were part of

Samba LDAP Tools and mkntpwd
I'm in the middle of Samba 3.0.9 ==> 3.0.14a migration testing. Because I'm using newer tools, I am also using a newer verions of the Samba LDAP Tools. My older version, 0.8.4, used the 'mkntpwd' utility to generate NT passwords. The new version, 0.9.1 defaults to using (what looks like) a Perl module called Crypt::SmbHash. My questions: Do I need to continue to use mkntpwd?

perl code for manipulating Samba LDAP attributes?
Since I manage the rest (unix side) of my ldap directory using Net::LDAP I was wondering if there are any perl modules/code out there to manipulate/calculate.... the Samba password attributes and the SID stuff? If no one comes forth I guess I will look at the code for smbpasswd and do it myself, but I would hate to re-invent the wheel. Jeff Saxton Sr. Support Engineer Addamark Technologies,

[LLVMdev] llvm_fcmp_ord and llvm_fcmp_uno and assembly code generation
Hi, The C backend in llc generates code like: static inline int llvm_fcmp_ord(double X, double Y) { return X == X && Y == Y; } static inline int llvm_fcmp_uno(double X, double Y) { return X != X || Y != Y; } First of all it generates a warning by clang and gcc (with certain flags): x.cbe.c:130: warning: comparing floating point with == or != is unsafe Now, C99 provides a macro for this

changing ldap passwords?
Samba experts, I am using Samba 3.0.8 on an AIX 5.1 system with ldap authentication. I have ldap working so that users can authenticate in their samba account via ldap. However, I am trying to figure out the best method for allowing users to change their ldap samba account password. What is the best method to allow end users to change their LM/NT passwords for Samba via LDAP? Should

Win2k Password Hash
I posted this earlier, but never saw it show up in the mailing list so I'm posting it again. I have a Samba 3.0 PDC using LDAP as it's password database backend, but I can't get a user to log on to a Win2k machine on the domain. In the log file for the PC (on the Samba machine), I see that the user is found in the LDAP backend but that getpwnam failed. The username does not

[LLVMdev] Packages
I'm wondering if LLVM has or should have support for a grouping of modules (which I'll call a package). That is, a package is a partial program contains many (probably related) modules. One might roughly compare it to a shared library. The reason that it is important is that we want to (a) distribute packages, not individual modules and (b) optimize the entire package (e.g. IPO) as a
