AW: W2K RAS Server in Samba 3.0.0 Domain
I patched samba to always return ACCESS_GRANTED for testing.
So I came to this:
IASSAM.LOG
[556] 23:23:53:671: Inserting attribute msNPAllowDialin.
[556] 23:23:53:671: Successfully retrieved per-user attributes.
Dialin now "only" fails with "Dialin not allowed for user", but I'm not able
to set it in UserMgr.
Is it difficult to map this attribute?

Samba 2.2.6 and RAS
Hi !
Does anyone know a possibility to allow RAS-Dialin for users in a fully
Samba-controlled Domain ?
Tried usrmgr in Windows, but got only errors. (Should this work ?)
Is there a possibility to make it on the command-line ? (Need not store the
callback-number)
Thanks in advance and kind regards

NT4 RAS Dial-in with Samba 3 PDC
Hi,
I am searching for information on how to set up an NT4 RAS server to
authenticate users against a Samba 3 PDC. Right now we have 2 domain
controllers and the plan is to phase them out. We want to set up samba
as the PDC, but we need RAS to work for the time being. Is there a way
to do this? We are going to use the LDAP backend for samba. Is it
also possible to have our NT4 BDC stay

W2K3 Server + RAS + Samba 3.0 Domain
Hi !
I?m trying to figure out if it?s possible to add a W2K3 Server into a
Samba 3.0 Domain and then have the RAS-Service on the W2K3 server
authenthicate against the Samba Domain.
Bringing the 2K3 into the Domain was not much of a problem, working fine
so far, i can log on using Domain users etc.
But i?ve been trying for a week now and i can?t get the RAS Service
working properly. It always

W2K RAS Server in Samba 3.0.0 Domain
We set up a DialIn W2K SP4 member server in our Samba 3.0.0 domain.
When a client dials in the RAS server complains:
Error 930: The authentication server did not respond to authentication
requests in a timely fashion.
I tracked down the RAS logfile IASSAM.LOG:
[576] 18:30:34:921: NT-SAM Names handler received request with user identity
root.

samba pdc- dialin allowed flag?
I would like to use a genuine Windows 2000 server as my PPTP server
(getting poptop to work correctly is annoying the hell out of me) which
needs to authenticate off of a Samba server configured as a PDC. A
Windows-based PDC has a flag for "dialin access allowed" for each user.
I searched the Samba archives and see several posts over the years that
say it "sounds easy enough to

Asterisk Dialplan command "PPPD" released
Hello all!
Sirrix AG, Saarbr?cken (manufacturer of the Sirrix.PCI4S0 4-port ISDN
card for Asterisk) has released the new Asterisk dialplan command PPPD
(app_pppd). It allows to connect a Linux PPP daemon to an arbitrary
digital (ISDN) Asterisk channel to provide RAS dialin and dialout.
The PPPD command has successfully been tested with Sirrix.PCI4S0 cards
and a standard ISDN4Linux ipppd "on

Merlin Legend
I have a legacy pbx that I know nothing about. The PBX is a merlin legend
system (now owned by avaya). I have found information on the list that I
can use a 100D T1 card to bridge the PBX to an asterisk system. We are
looking to head this route as well as replacing are AUDIX VM system with
Asterisk. Has anyone done this that wouldn't mind sharing some of the
merlin specific setup?

Using 2 PhoneJacks with Asterisk for Data calls.
Hi,
I have recently discovered the project along with the PhoneJacks
produced by quicknet, they could be the answer to something I have been
looking into.
I would like to be able to test using a dial-in server & possibily also
a Windows RAS server, however I only have 1 phone line. I was thinking
that I create a setup like that illustrated below to solve the problem:-

Samba and VPN
Hi!
I have printers, files shared to all windoze platforms in my group. Now I
want to also access the samba box via a VPN. So configuration:
NT----PPTP---NT/RAS-----Linux 7
Any experience with this type of config? Quick test shows the samba host but
when I try to access it the network path is not found.
Thanks!

lists.shorewall.net is back up
That could have gone smoother. I had many problems with the NFS install on
my firewall then once I got the server back up, mail delivery was broken :-

I still haven''t gotten ulogd to run under RH9.0 but everything else seems
to be working ok...

Hello
Is here anybody who is able to manage his NT4.0 domain on hid Samba 3
PDC with User Manager for Domains?
Can you please tell me what things must be checked to be sure USRMGR.EXE

I am unable to make it working and tried already these Samba versions:

3.0.0rc2

Samba 2.2 PDC to allow RAS?
Hi everyone,
I have set up a Samba PDC (2.2.3a) that works fine.
However, I still have NT Machines acting as RAS server. After switching from
the former NT PDC to the Samba PDC, RAS Dial-In fails due to missing dial-in
permissions.
I found nothing in the docs about that, and only a post by Gerald Carter on
this list saying he'd try to look into it, dated June 2001.
Is it possible to

Can Asterisk RAS?
I am trying to set up somthing so I can dial into my asterisk box, and
have it behave as a modem bank. Is there anything like that already, or
am I going to have to write my own. I checked googls and found no
leads, but thought I would ask here before I tried writing my own, just
to make sure I wasnot reinventing the wheel.
Thank you in advance for any responses.

RAS -- workaround/substitute?
I have an app that almost-but-not-quite works under wine. The main
problem seems to be that the app announces that it's initiating login
to the remote web server, but then after ten seconds says login failed.
The only likely suspect I see buried among the hundreds of other fixme's
is this one:

NetJet and RAS
Hi,
Last weekend I was planning to buy a physical PBX system, but instead I
have been blown away by the fact that VoIP really works, that Asterisk
is so easy to set up and use... and free!
We're in Australia, so as I understand it, we aren't allowed to use the
Zaptel cards. We need to set up our system to route incoming 56K data
calls to the PPP daemon on our Linux box or to our
