NT4 PDC and Samba 3 issues...
I upgraded an old Samba 2.x install on Debian that I had at a customer location. Authentication to the PDC was via winbind. Everything worked fine in the past except the RAID died so I rebuilt the RAID, copied over the old volume, and ran apt-get update && apt-get upgrade. Now I have some really weird Samba problems: I can connect to my share on Samba. I can create a dir, a file,

Best way for exchange?
I have been asked to set up a customer with Exchange 2000. I have tried to convert them, so please don't suggest it. We have 3 boxes we can use to do this with. We want to use Samba 3 as the PDC (ldap backend) and Samba 3 as BDC (ldap backend), with the exchange box as a domain member. Will this work? If not, what is the best way to ensure that : a. We have PDC and BDC for authentication

Problems with heatmap.2
Hi When I give the command: > heatmap.2(as.matrix(d),Rowv=as.dendrogram(hc.gene),Colv=FALSE,scale="row ",trace="none",col=greenred.colors(79)) The resulting heatmap has re-ordered my columns! This is time-course data, and I don't want my columns re-ordered! Note from the help: Rowv: determines if and how the _row_ dendrogram should be reordered.

mongrel memory usage ballooning and process stomping
Hi, I have mongrel 0.3.14, with ruby 1.8.5, rails 1.1.6 and mongrel cluster 0.2.1, on debian sage 3.1 with apache 2.0, and fastthread 0.6.1. I am load balancing 3 mongrel processes using the random port trick. When I start mongrel the processes have about 60MB, but after some hour of usage the memory ballons upto more than 180MB and the site becomes terribly slow. Forcing me to restart mongrel

NT4 to Samba 3 Migration
I've done the net rpc vampire and gotten all the user and machine accounts from the NT server, I've test logged in, checked permissions, set groups, tested some of our odd apps and it all looks good. The problem I'm having is switching the desktops, and keeping the (non-roaming) profiles. I'd like to have it so everyone reboots their computer after the Samba switch over, and then

Adit Asterisk Cabling Connundrum.
I am hoping to replace my Nortel 8x24 switch with Asterisk. Right now my cabling comes from my outside phone box into my office and into a punchdown block and leaves the punchdown block as an amphenol connector which currently plugs into the Nortel swicth. A second amphenol connector them plugs into the switch and extends to another punchdown block that I believe carries the lines throughout the

Question on peering two Asterisk servers
I have two servers each with one TDM card from Digium and three POTS lines going into each server (each POTS line is one individual number). and I want to have all incoming calls into server B be directed to the IVR on server A and to be able to fail over to Server B in case Server A has an issue (it can be a manual failover and I actually prefer it to be a manual process). I've

Backing up NT4 shares - migration from NT4 to Samba
Hi all, I'm trying to mygrate my NT4 PDC to a Samba v3rc2 PDC. Everything worked well during accounts migration (vampire). I'm now trying to back-up the shares (homes, profiles, netlogon), in order to fully migrate the accounts. Unfortunately, I'm facing a stupid problem : each home directory (or profile directory) can only be read from its creator, NOT from the Administrator of the

NT4/samba question
Hello, I was wondering if any knowledgeable people might have the answer to this question. We've configured samba on a sun unix machine running 5.5.1. We can connect and login, without any problems, from our Win98 boxes. However, we cannot login or map drives from the network neighborhood from our Windows NT workstations. The error is: "Account is not authorized to login from this

Risks of NT4 -> Samba Migration
I have a Windows NT4 domain that I'm considering migrating to Samba. It has three domain controllers, all of which are WINS servers, about 350 computers and around 250 users. It also has a trust relationship with an Active Directory domain. I'd be migrating to three Samba servers backed by LDAP and only one of them running WINS. I'm using the net rpc vampire method described in the

NT4 Performance Issues (Update)
To add to my previous posting. Machines with SP4 work fine, machines with SP5 exhibit the very slow access to mapped shares with drive letters. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
