Samba and LDAP troubles
Hello. I have a LDAP database with user data. For that I use posixAccout schema. Now I installed Samba 3, and want to use it as a file server ( and wins server for network browsing of course ). after I added samba.schema to my LDAP database, LDAP wont start anymore.. then I saw that Samba needs SID in its schema. My question now is - what number should I enter for SID?? I don't use

pxelinux+memdisk experience & problem..
hi: i try to make some images for pxelinux+memdisk. the version i try is 2.0.6 and 2.0.7pre5 for 2.88M floppy image, first i make a 1.44M boot floopy, then use "winimage" to load the disk and transfer it to 2.88M format, then save the image. it seems a easy way to make a 2.88M boot image. for harddisk image, i use vmware to build a virtual machine with 20M harddisk, make it boot

Troubleshooting help?
I'm terribly sorry if this isn't the proper place/method by which to get help with troubleshooting Samba errors/issues, but it's the best one I could find. I have an instance of Samba 4.8.3 running on a Centos 7.6 VM server (kernel 3.10.0-957.1.3), along with Centrify 5.5.2-578, that will allow folks to map a shared drive from their Windows 10 machines generally fine, but quite

how to directly print plots to printer?
Hi all, How do I directly send plots to printer, instead of showing them on the screen device? That's to say, with my current code for ploting on screen device, how to modify a few lines to send automatically the plots to the printer? If that's not doable in R, could it be possible to automatically generate a multi-page PDF file for all the plots, so that I can print one singal PDF file

root fs type in fstab
Hello all. I am currently using ext3 0.0.5d with great success. I am a bit conflicted about what to tell the system regarding my root filesystem however. I have my root filesystem configured and working as an ext3 filesystem, but it is/was not without some fraught. Using RedHat 7.0, if you simply create your journal on the root file- system, figure out it's inode number, issue a lilo -R

smbtools, existing users, etc...
Hello. I followed your discussion about smbtools etc. Now I would like to hear some concrete answers about them. I have my existing users in LDAP ( posixAccount schema ), and now I installed samba 3.0.0 and want to store samba user accounts in LDAP too. I included samba.schema. Is it possible to add samba part of user account to the already existing user account in LDAP? If yes, how do I

Yes, or, add another block of lines with lo (or lo0) depending on what your kernel uses for loopback in place of the $egress_int parameter to get it to listen on 127.0.0.1 as well. -- Larry Rosenman http://www.lerctr.org/~ler Phone: +1 214-642-9640 E-Mail: larryrtx at gmail.com US Mail: 5708 Sabbia Drive, Round Rock, TX 78665-2106 ?On 7/11/18, 5:38 PM,
