Request for Feature: Debug IP List
Hi,
It would be very useful to have a parameter(s) that allows a list of IP
addresses, for which verbose debugging takes place. This would be
extremely helpful for tracking odd cases that do not occur consistently,
and for troubleshooting machine-specific issues.
example smb.conf entries:
debug ip list level = 10
debug ip list = 192.168.0.151 192.168.0.136
Ideally this would be available

loading shared libraries at startup
Dear people,
I compiled a bit of C code into a shared library cftpR.so, and load it
into R at runtime using
> dyn.load("cftpR.so")
This works fine, however when I put
.First <- function()
{
dyn.load("/home/faheem/research/cftp/cftpR.so")
}
(using absolute path names; also tried with just dyn.load("cftpR.so")),
into my .Rprofile to load the library at

Accessing domain share drives
I'm using
SUSE linux 2.4.19-4GB
samba-client-2.2.5-226
pam_smb-1.1.6-371
My goal is to configure a Linux desktop into a windows domain environment.
So far I have managed to configure pam_smb to authenticate users to the PDC.
So thats good.
Now the problem is when user tries to browse a share.
At the moment the users has to retype in their domain/userid password

Squat full text search indexer redesign
I was writing this to beta9 announcement, but it grew so huge that I
guess a separate mail is better. :)
I've spent quite a lot of time this last week redesigning/rewriting
Squat indexer. I think the redesign is good enough now that I'll just
replace the existing squat with this new one in next release. I don't
think many people are using the old squat, and there are also some bugs

In the Sage command line, you can type
sage: r?
to get some very basic info, and
sage: r.[tab]
to get various commands. This part of the interface still needs some

win98 vs win95 with TCP/IP

The software we need runs in win9x.
We crave stability. But Linux+Samba is just much slower as a file
server.
It's normally quite fast: are you running over a
dial-up network, requiring you to adust MTU's for
speed???
If not, try ``socket

Warnings created during R_eval or R_tryEval not shown before R ending or R error.
Hi,
I have an embedded R, with the evaluation of expressions happening over
time during the lifespan of the process. I tried either `R_eval()` and
`R_tryEval()` for the evaluation. The issue I have is that the processing
of warnings does not happen until the process exits and/or R is shut down.
Evaluating `warnings()` returns NULL (NILSXP).
It seems like the warnings are stuck in a list out of

I've tried reading the source code and came to a similar conclusion.
PrintWarnings() is required for warnings() to work

rsync maximum size limit
Hi
Is there any way in rsync that allows me to trasfer certain amount of files?
For Example:
My total directory/folder (/var/tmp/testFolder ) size is 800MB and I want to
sync only 200MB of files at other server, whichever file will be synced I
don't care but only 200MB of files. I am not talking about single file here,
I want to sync the whole directory until the size reach 200MB.

Bridging audio in cmd_dial() before connect completes?
Is it possible to make cmd_dial() bridge the audio going out to the network
back to the calling party as soon as dial() starts? Put another way, is it
possible to have the caller hear the outside dialtone and subsequent DTMF
digits? I notice that there is an option 'r' to dial(), thus:
r: Generate a ringing tone for the calling party, passing no audio from the
called channel(s) until one

RJS render errors when user clicks away before render completes
We have an issue where we are using RJS templates to render the
results of Ajax calls. Everything works fine so long as the user
waits for the render to occur. However, if the user initiates the
request and the RJS template is still in the process of rendering, but
hasn''t completed, and the user clicks a different link, then we get a

Help Documentation (PR#6716)
hi henrik (all): A better solution would be to have levels:
set.help(level="beginner"), which then provides expanded explanations.
However, I do not think this is necessary: For the most part, the online
R docs are great. It is not more detailed explanations that beginners
crave. My primary wishes arise as I stumble onto a need, and then wish
for a few more examples of different
