accessing shares
My experience is very limited on Unix and Samba. Please forgive me if the answer is right in front of me. Problems accessing shares on my Samba 3.0.1pre1 running on Gentoo1.4 I'm stuck big time! I've been trying to figure out why I cannot access shares. The only share I can currently read & write to is: [OpenShare] comment = Temporary file space path = /tmp

[Fwd: accessing shares]
John: I wanted to add that I have no problem logging into the samba server with a domain account, as long as it's not through KDE. The first time error's out complaining about DCOPServer and not being able to write to the home directory....don't know if this is relevant. My experience is very limited on Unix and Samba. Please forgive me if the answer is right in front of me.

Trouble authenticating clients from ADS domain on Samba 3.0.5 file server
I'm so close I can feel it :-) I'm having a problem connecting users to their home directories. Under "My Network Places" on XP clients I can see my Samba file server ("Hobbes") just fine. When I double click on it to open it, I get a login/password prompt that I can't bypass even though I try logins/passwords that exist on the ADS server and/or the UNIX accounts.

Samba working in Active Directory .config's included
I'm struggling just as much as the next person on this setup. Although; I do have it working under Mandrake 9.2 with Samba3.0.pre1. Perhaps we can work together and figure out what is different between setups. smb.conf: > #======================= Global Settings ===================================== > [global] > > # 1. stack overflow
Hello, I am trying to do an ANOVA on a microarray data set consisting of 22690 elements. The ANOVA is fine, but when I try to put the data in a frame in order to exporting it, I get a stack overflow. I have found documentation on dynamic memory in R, but not on how to increase the stack size. The code I'm using is below. If anyone has any suggestions for a workaround here, I'd

Samba 4 AD SmartCard Authentication Problem
Confusing. Github says that is open. Ok. My mistake. The question remains why the Windows clients allow login for an expired certificate despite a correctly loaded CRL. What is the purpose of specifying the CRL in smb.conf? It seems to me that the smartcard login is not really reliable. Then my users still have to log in with password. For now, as long as 4.19 is not yet released. Hans

Ldap.h missing in samba-3.0.0
I have downloaded samba-3.0.0.tar.bz2 (and samba-latest.tar.gz) and attempted to run "./configure --with-ldapsam --with-winbind --with-pam_smbpass --with-smbmount --with-ads --with-ldap" Only to find that ./configure complains of a missing ldap.h file. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to do a simple setup to having a Linux box communicate to my Windows 2000 Server PDC,

conflicting domain SIDS
I would like to migrate users into my Samba3 server. Problem is I have a sambaDomainSID that conflicts with my Windows domain SID. My backend is LDAP. I'm not sure what to delete so I can get my SambaDomainSid in sync with Windows domain SID and start migrating users. Thanks!
