machine accounts aren't added properly with smbldap-useradd.pl + ldap backend
Yay, I finally got my samba 3 PDC working! Following a variety of indirect hints I used the root account to join, rather than trying to mess around with various groups and group mappings. I had done this before, with no good effect, but checked more carefully this time and found that it was my machine account that was not being found, not the root account. Further investigation shows that when

ext3 .journal location?
Forgive my novice question, but I am a new student of Linux working on presenting the ext3 journaling filesystem to my class. I seek any advice on how to visibly demonstrate (including a purposeful crash of a Linux box) the benefits of ext3 over ext2. I am not worthy to lick the bootstraps of this group, but I beg for any help! The problem I am having extends to even locating the .journal file

where to define a struct
Hello, I''m trying to use the following Struct in my web app: UserInfo = Struct.new( "UserInfo", :first_name, :last_name, :email, :domain_name ) I placed this in the environment.rb, thinking that it should be initialized only once. But when I try to access it from within my controller, I get: undefined method `UserInfo'' for #<UserController:0x243ad5c>. so

Fully virtualized w/ postfix?
Hi folks, I've poked through the archives and google and have not seen how do do this. Is it possible to virtualize ALL emails on a system? That is, I want delivery only to e.g. /var/mail/vmail/domain.tld/user/Maildir/, and for authentication & userdb to: 1) Try /etc/passwd, and if someone is there, automatically append the "default" domain, otherwise, 2) Authenticate off a

Anyone run * on OS X ?
With the 1U Apple G5 server at a good reliability/storage/pricepoint level... got to thinking about compiling Asterisk on OS X.. at least for SIP phone call switching, voicemail, etc. Has anybody attempted this? Email me off list if this is too dev-heavy for the user list. Thanks, Ted W -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-request@lists.digium.com

Migration from samba3 to samba4 : PDC doesn't not appear in network
Hello, I'm trying to migrate an old PDC controller running samba 3.0.4 to a more decent server. Now, I use samba 4.2.10 (from debian/jessie). My smb.conf is : # Global parameters [global] workgroup = CABINET realm = SYSTELLA.NET netbios name = CERVANTES server role = active directory domain controller security = user encrypt passwords

MAX TNT Question
Hi ALL, I'm using this TNT to front-end an asterisk cluster, working pretty well so far. Some T1's are inbound from PSTN PRI's and others are Outbound to PSTN PRI's. Specifying what traffic to send out what PRI is pretty easy, we have unique trunk numbers assigned to specific T1's or groups of T1's, so when I send SIP traffic to the TNT, I prepend the dialed call with

IAX jitterbufer oddity
Hi, First a confession - The box in question is a 1.2.35 box, so this may be solved in a newer version as I know the JB code is all hugely changed, but... It may be worth checking into. Scenario: - IAX outbound call from Asterisk, which rings okay. - Remote end sends ANSWER, which we immediately ACK. - The ANSWER control packet gets put into the JB (that's how I read the code) - The remote

Samba 3.0.0 PDC, XP SP1, and domain joining woes.
Greetings, you kind and wonderful people. I've spent the past few hours or so (read: all day) attempting to get a basic PDC up and running, with no success. I've even gone to the extent of copying John Herpstra's config, which contains all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff, in the hope that he had something I missed. He didn't. I've got one box running debian testing, with

setjmp in llvm
Hi,I'm trying to prevent llvm instruction motion around an intrinsic function call. Throughout my experimenting, I was told that setjmp could create fake entry points into a region of code and that might prevent code motion. What I found is something surprising, and probably is a misuse of setjmp but I couldn't find an explanation for it.Consider this:#include <csetjmp> std::jmp_buf
