Truncate with libsmbclient
Hi, I'm working on a bug with fusesmb. This is a file system in user space for Linux that uses libsmbclient to present a share like other VFS file system. The truncate operation of fusesmb-0.8.5-1 was not completely implemeted. It's necessary for some applications, like OpenOffice, that do this operation when saving a file. So, I implemented a truncate function with libsmbclient. I

BIOENV
Dear all, Does anyone knows why the results of a BIOENV (PRIMER v. 6.1.15) are diferent of the bioenv() + mantel() in vegan? Not the spearman correlation, indeed the pseudo-p value. I know that the approach bioenv() + mantel() is biased. So, how the BIOENV (PRIMER) ends with larger p values (permutated). Acctualy how the permutation test in BIOENV (PRIMER) is conducted. The user guide does not

Wilks lamda and single discriminant function
Dear R-users, I'm wondering how to obtain Wilks-lambda values when discriminant analyses have only one discriminant function (i.e. 2 categories to discriminate between). The use of manova(predictions~groups, test="Wilks") asks for multiple response and the use of anova(lm(predictions~groups), test="Wilks") simply does not consider the last term. (The alternative

Modems: Cable or DSL digital blunders that lartc may help with.
I have a Cable ''modem'' that has a problem that many of these devices is bound to have. I was wondering what other lartc user thought about this and if DSL has simular problems. Cable, being Asymetrical, is able to upload at a given rate and hopefully has a buffer, in the modem, of some kind. When I nc(netcat) to a UDP echo, or discard, server I get about 10Mbps out on my

R2HTML package for R 1.6
Hello R communauty, I have submitted to CRAN the package R2HTML. The purpose of this package is twice: - provide base HTML exportation functions. Basically, you will use them exactly as a print function (or a cat(...file=)). Thus, making dynamic HTML reports is possible. - making live HTML output with frames and command, which is very usefull for teaching purpose, as the student can keep a
