Problem Logging into Domain
I've got Samba 2.2.3a running on Debian Linux Kernel 2.4.21 setup as a domain controller. When I try and login to the domain from a Windows XP workstation I get the following message. Windows cannon connect to the domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Can anybody think of what is causing this? Any help

Problems Adding Workstation to Domain
I've got Samba 2.2.3a running on Debian Linux Kernel 2.4.21 setup as a domain controller. When I try to add a Windows XP Workstation I get the following message. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more then one user name, are not allowed. I've installed the singseal registry patch already. Anybody think of what is causing this? Any help is

XP Pro connecting to PDC
I have followed the FAQs and HOW-TOs, including the Sign and Seal registry patch, but I am unable to make this work. RedHat 9.0 Samba 3.0.0rc4 XP Pro SP1 When I setup the PC and join the domain, it gives me the 'Welcome to the Domain' message, but I really don't think that this has worked because of errors in the log file, (yes I can provide, and yes I am using the smb user root).

WMF conversion...
Hello R-Help, I've got a bit of an issue with WMF's. I am working on WindowsXP and outputting WMF format images. I then take the WMF format images and insert them in PowerPoint. I take the PowerPoint and convert it to PDF. The WMFs are nothing special. Just the typical x-y plot with a gray dotted grid added and a few matlines. The WMFs, when produced look great! They show

ProxyJump in 7.3, depending on location
Hi, I'm very grateful for the new ProxyJump option. It helps tremendously! One small question I'd like to ask, though: Is there a way to skip one (mostly the first) jump host if the machine is in some specific network? For example, from home, I (resp. a shell script) need to jump to the office's server, a customers' login host, and then to the destination node; from the

Samba + LDAP over the WAN
Since we're on the subject of Samba over the WAN.... (BTW, I'm running three offices with a Samba 3.0.9 PDC and two Samba 3.0.9 BDCs over an FreeSwan based WAN and it works just fine. The WINS server is a must in my book though.) Last Thursday and Friday, one of the remove office's WAN lines went down. While the outages were significant, nothing major happened because of it. But,

oomath and filter selection
Hi all, in Centos 5.2 I could click on and xls file in thunderbird and it would use oomath to open the file. I could do on the command line "oomath file.xls" and it open the file and show it to me no problem either. now in 5.3 (x86_64) in either case above I get a "filter selection" screen. Most of the selections are for Word not excel and if I choose an excel item my

QoS & VPN
I've got multiple satellite office all linked back to the main office via VPN. Each office has their own asterisk server which registers back to the main office's Asterisk server. Each office also has a 1Mb downstream / 384k - 768k upstream connection. The branches are using Speex for their connections back to the main office. The issue I'm having is that there are times that

German SIP and/or IAX providers?
Hi, all. My company is setting up a branch office in Germany, and I'm very interested in a VoIP provider over thataway. However, I'd need a few things: - Reliability. Can't have my branch office's DID's just going down. A company with a proven track record would be very, very good. - English. I speak great English, decent Spanish... and zilch German. So, as provincial as

Samba 3 with OpenLDAP multimaster or Fedora-DS
Hi, I'd like to know if any of you have ever implemented Samba 3 with OpenLDAP multimaster (using syncrepl, maybe) or Fedora-DS. The basic idea would be: - WAN link dies, the remote office's BDC would promote itself to PDC (using some kind of monitoring script), and will start accepting changes to the user base. Also, some change to the local WINS server would be necessary. - WAN link

System Design
Hey Everyone, We are in the works of planning a new * installation for our company. We have 20 users in our main office and 5 users in a remote office a couple of states away. Our call volume for the main office will be anywhere from 5-10 concurrent calls. The remote office will have about 3 heavy users with two users making calls occasionally. Right now we have an existing PBX. We have a

Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi, I just installed a CentOS 7 + KDE desktop in my office's network. So far, I'm quite happy with the results, though I have some trouble getting the printer to work. All the other machines in my office (server, desktops, workstation) are running Slackware64 14.1 or 14.2, and they can all use the printer perfectly. I installed hplip-gui and ran it. The printer is a network printer, it

Low RX volume and half duplex/"walkie-talkie" on AEX-804E
Hi All, I have a ticket open with Digium, but based on their previous lack of support for the Asterisk Appliance, I'm not really holding my breath - and, honestly, I'm not 100% convinced it's a Digium issue in the first place (but I don't know where else to point fingers). We have an AEX-804E (PCI Express, 4 FXO ports, Hardware Echo Cancellation) in a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with

Squid on CentOS 7: few questions
Hi, I recently migrated my office's server from Slackware64 14.1 to CentOS 7. Right now I'm in the process of configuring the Squid web proxy. I edited the default /etc/squid/squid.conf, and here's what I have so far: --8<-------------------------------------------------- # /etc/squid/squid.conf # Nom d'h?te du serveur Squid visible_hostname amandine.microlinux.lan #

native dll and wineprefix
Hi all I installed office2007 and I read here http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=12813 that I need to use native riched20.dll. My problem is that the comment says to do not set the override globally. How can I do that ? In winecfg when I add a dll I can chose : Integrated ("int?gr?e (Wine)") Native ("native (windows") first Integrated then

Test Line
Hi, Somewhere in the Wiki I read that the best way to adjust the rxgain and txgain is to dial a "type 102 milliwatt test line". This line is usually found in xxx-958-nnnn or xxx-959-nnnn ranges. I'm in area code 323 in Los Angeles. Does anybody know the test number here?? Thanks, -N

language in posts
I am not sure what is going on, but I have been missing potentially important information from the samba digest mailing because someone has chosen to use words such as as**hole and p**is in their posts. He have a filter at work that block these messages containing a variety of words. I cannot think of how these could have legitimate uses in samba admin. I look forward to receiving the samba

Feature Request: Ability to join a IPv4-Only DC, into a Dual-Stacked "Samba4 AC DC" PDC.
Hey guys! To make the adoption of IPv6 networks with Samba4 more smooth / robust, I think that it is vital to give to Samba4, the ability for it, to join a IPv4-Only Secondary DC, into a Dual-Stacked Primary DC. This doesn't work today. Otherwise, these days to enable IPv6 within a "Samba4 AC DC" network, it is a requirement to enable it, simultaneously, on each and every network
