Samba 2.2.8 and NFS together?
Hi All, I have a rather unique (at least from reading the archives) situation that has me stumped, and I'm hoping the gurus can help. Here's my problem, I have a Solaris 2.8 server running Samba 2.2.8 which sits on two networks (no routing between networks). On one side of the Samba server are 100 PCs running a mix of Win95 and Win98 which have touch screens and no keyboards, that are

Observed responses in 'augPred' data frame - Wrong order ?
Dea-R community. I'd like to draw your attention to an issue I have recently encountered while doing my current data analysis. I've got an unexpected (to me) result from the command: > augPred(lmList(my.object)), 'my.object' being a grouped data frame of class: > class(my.object) [1] "nfnGroupedData" "nfGroupedData" "groupedData"

Row to Column help
Dear R Community, I am attempting to transpose a dataset from rows to columns but am stuck. I have tried using reshape() with little luck, possibly due to the categorical nature of the data. For example: id<-c(1,2,2,3,3,3) author<-c("j","k","k","l","l","l")

Histogram: plot by group
I want to make a histogram in R of the data in attached excel file called 'cbt'. However, I need the histogram to show a separation for Group 1 and Group 2, as in attached image. How do I do this in R? I know how to make a histogram for a single group, but how can I separate the 2 groups? http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n4256052/hist.jpg

Use of "&" kills rails -- redux
I see someone else mentioned this below, but the answer was just "use &&", which isn''t what I''m looking for. I''m using acts_as_ferret in my web app, but if the user inputs certain symbols, like &, it kills his/her browser. I''m running everything locally on OS X. I had to reboot OS X because the crash was so bad. Is there a way to

Full-text Search Options Redux
Hey all, I haven''t heard much on the list in a while re: ActiveSearch, Ferret, Hyper Estraier, etc. in a while. Has anyone successfully used ActiveSearch on tables with rows in the order of hundreds of thousands, if not millions? (in our case, each row containing anywhere from a paragraph of text to many pages) Here''s some background on our search efforts. A. Hyper

FileColumn Redux
I installed FileColumn successfully but now find the need to get a new image size. I was wondering if there was a fast script, or method, that would run through all my products and use the existing mail file already submited and resize it according to the new specifications. Thanks! -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

TCP/UDP broken checksums redux (with UDP workaround)
Hello, A little informal input on the TCP/UDP checksum deferral/offload: it fails for me. I have one Xen host, running a snapshot of xen-unstable at 2006-03-24 (9435:11fee62328cc). Each of its domUs are allocated their own /30, with the help of a hacked-up vif script. Prior to working around the problem, Domain-0 could establish TCP connections to other domains. In the case of SSH, it would
