Reducing Xapian memory usage
Hey guys I noticed xapian using a lot of memory while indexing [1] so I decided to look at the bottle necks and where this can be improved. Here are some large spots that I noticed (Chert) - 1. Every document has map<string, OmDocumentTerm> and OmDocumentTerm contains the same string again. This results in every term being stored in memory twice. Additionally multiple documents may

Re-write callerid?
Is it possible to rewrite caller id's? I would like to have sip phones appear by their local cid (like Henk <208>) but when they call out using the PRI I would like their full DID (MSN) to appear (like 0031201234567) I could ofcourse set callerid to the main phonenumber but surely there must be a better solution? Thanks!! Remco

X flag in smbpasswd?
mksmbpasswd.sh does not create accounts with the X flag in the password flags field. Does this X matter, and if so, what does it mean? Ofcourse, SIP there is a lot, but we need also the ability to use IAX (as it is good for NAT). Any advise. Logwatch - malformed password entry(uid not number)
Hi All, I've the following in the logs and am wondering why they are there. I also keep getting emails from SAMBA log-deamon (or something like that). [2003/05/19 15:24:29, 0] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:getsmbfilepwent(364) getsmbfilepwent: malformed password entry (uid not number) It's not really serious (at least to me) but it's a cause for concern. Below are the details LInux

Switched to git
We've finally completed the move away from subversion, and the master code repository for Xapian is now git. We've had an automatically updated git mirror for more than 4.5 years, so for most people this probably makes little practical difference. The main thing you may notice is that patches and pull requests will now get merged via git, so history can be easily preserved where that

Your opinion about RHCSA certification
Hello to all, I'm currently studying (and collecting notes here https://github.com/fdicarlo/RHCSA_cs) for RHCSA. My plan is to RHCSA -> RHCE and then RHCSS. What I want to ask you is: - What do you think about it? - Did you find it useful? - Do you have any advices? Best regards, Fabrizio -- "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have
