Hi,
~ I just tried SWAT that comes with Samba 3.0.0, it keeps appending
the ldap suffix to the user, group and computer suffix and thus
corrupting my smb.conf

icecast and smp
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
~ I have just installed Ice cast and I really like it. I want to
stream a radio station which expects 6000 concurrent listener. I was
thinking of using an SMP machine with Linux running.
Does Ice cast make use of SMP, does anyone have sizing references .

DVB audio stream
Hi,
I am trying to broadcast a radio station with the source being the
station's transmission on DVB (satellite), has anyone tried installing a
DVB card in a Linux box and feeding the stream to Icecast ?

Need mount -t smbfs to be world/group writable & not only root
Hi,
Need some pointers.
Currently using
mount -t smbfs -o username=xxx,pasword=xxx //servername/sharename /mnt/share
Since I can only mount as root, (not in /etc/fstab)
sudo mount -t smbfs -o username=xxx,pasword=xxx //servername/sharename
/mnt/share
Problem here is.. I can't get group or world writeable permission on the
share. It's a NTFS share but that is not a problem. I can

Winbind Auth - prevent some users from logging on
Hey folks,
New to the list - and I hope this isn't a dumb question.
I am in the process of revamping the way we authenticate to our Linux
servers. Moving away from pam_ldap and pam_nss, in favor of winbind and
pam_nss. The reason for this is that I feel winbindd does a better job of
failing over from a unavailable authentication server than pam_ldap.
In any case - I have it all working

OpenSSH + PADL pam_ldap.so + password aging
First, my config:
Solaris 8
PADL pam_ldap v165 and pam_nss v211
OpenSSH 3.7.1.p2
All compiled with gcc 2.95.3 that ships with the Sun companion CD
LDAP PAM authentication is working well with OpenSSH, privsep is disabled,
challenge-response authentication is enabled. I would like to turn on
password aging, which seems to be well supported by pam_ldap. Logins going
through /bin/login correctly

Stability issues with Dovecot imap-login in Centos 5?
I wonder if other people are seeing stability issues with Dovecot and
imap-login against LDAP?
I've changed from pam_nss to ldap without nss in Dovecot to see if that
helps the issue. I realise
Dovecot is version 1.0 in Centos 5, would it be more advisable to switch to
Cyrus? I'm using mbox
mail spool files would that work with Cyrus?

virutal resources and ssh_authorized_key
Hello!
I''ve got question - how to use ssh_autorized_key as a virtual resource?
I''ve got bunch of users and ssh_authorized_key virtual resources, but
only users gets to the target system - ssh keys not...
I write something like:
class admins {
@user { "username":
...
}
@ssh_authorized_key { "username":

Deus Ex in Wine - working
hey all, i know it's kind of pointless to get Deus Ex running in wine now thnx
to loki (j/k), but if you have shelled out $$ for Deus Ex winblows version, now
you can run it in wine. I got Deus Ex running yesterday with TransGaming's
(www.transgaming.com) version of wine. I ran it in both OpenGL and Glide mode,
video runs excellent. Mouse input is great as well, much better than the

Teliax - Codec Preference effective?
Has anyone had problems getting their preffered codecs on the Teliax web
interface taking effect?
I have two accounts, two separate yet similarly configured * servers. On one
account the settings took right away - on another server I am getting no
result. In fact, no matter what I change the settings to, only the old
codecs are usable (otherwise * says it can't negotiate a codec). Teliax

not healing one file
On a side note, try recently released health report tool, and see if it
does diagnose any issues in setup. Currently you may have to run it in all
the three machines.
