Centos 7 member server login fails
I have a problem that is now becoming very annoying. Namely I have a
Centos 7 member server running Sernet Samba 4.7.4 for which everything
seems to work except gdm or ftp logins. On the linux client it seems
winbindd is set up correctly. For example (the data shown below has been
sanitized):

testuser2:*:3001108:3000513::/home/testuser1:/bin/bash

outlook2007 shows frequent imap disconnect no matter what outlook-idle setting in dovecot.conf
Hello,
I saw the problem quite often in various posts but could not find a real solution .
Problem is that I frequently get annoying popups from outlook 2007 about imap idle timeouts which block working with outlook until the popup is acknowledged.
The popup says:
Your IMAP server closed the connection. This can occur if you leave the connection idle for too long.

CentOS 7.8 samba member server does not join and populate with correct FQDN
Joining member Centos 7.8 Linux server with 4.10.4-10.el7 or higher appears to ignore client FQDN when AD domain does not match client domain name.? For example Active Directory Domain is ad1.testdomain.com and the client member server FQDN is? testhost.clients.testdomain.com.? When joining the domain? DNSHostName attribute in AD shows testhost.ad1.testdomain.com when it should be

Dovecot LDA failure in RC16
After upgrading a test server from rc15 to rc16, Postfix was no longer able
to deliver mail via Dovecot deliver:

VFS plug-in for Gluster breaks case sensitivity.

I suggest we use the official RFC 1918 zones.

Unable to create (and keep) guest

Guest: Ubuntu maverick
I am having a horrid time trying to create a guest on my xen machine.
I have tried several method. The method that I have had the most
success with is `xm create`. The problem I have is that once the I
have run:
xm create -c myconfig.cfg install=true

I have no name Error
I just compiled and installed samba 3.2.4 on Redhat host and configured as
member. While I try to login as an AD user, I get "I have no name" and
"cannot find name" error.
[root@testhost]# su - testuser
id: cannot find name for user ID 11616
id: cannot find name for group ID 10513
id: cannot find name for user ID 11616
But wbinfo --uid-info=11616 returns the result.

ERROR 1045 (28000) when trying to login into the mysql through user test1
hey friends,
I am running Mysql server version: 4.1.20 on Centos 4.0. The problem I
am facing is that I am not able to access the databases if I login
through anyother user for example test1
mysql -u test1 -p

Ok, i did a few things on my DC and see the how/what here.
First, the zone.
samba-tool dns zonecreate rtd-dc1 19.172.in-addr.arpa
That worked fine, in windows DNS tool that shows correct.
Now i added an PTR with this line.
samba-tool dns add dc1 19.172.in-addr.arpa 55.0 PTR testhost.internal.domain.tld
This resulted in a subfolder "0" the 19.172.in-addr.arpa zone.
