Tru64 sockets bug?
We are using rsync to maintain a warm mirror of our boot disks. I just
updated to rsync 2.6.0 and noticed that the rsync runs are now getting
errors when copying sockets. The system is running Tru64 5.1A pk 4 on
an AlphaServer 4100. Is this a bug? Is there some way to not copy
sockets or should I find all of them and add them to the exclude file?
rsync was built using a straight ./configure

Drive namings...
Just wondering if there is a way to get drive namings to change according
to who's logged into the network.
ie.
'bob' logs into windows networking and gets...
E: 'bob' on server kiwi.
Now if 'sue' logs into windows networking on the same pc she gets...
E: 'bob' on server kiwi.
But E: contains sue's stuff. So is there a way into making 'sue'

Testing for membership in an array of strings
As an R beginner, I feel brain dead today as I can not find the answer
to a relatively simple question.
Given a array of string values, for example lets say "mary", "bob",
"danny", "sue", and "jane".
I am trying to determine how to perform a logical test to determine if
a variable is an exact match for one of the string values in the array

Column renaming
Dear all,
Is there a less cumbersome way to rename a column by name (as opposed
to index) than --
names( X)[ names[ X] == "bob"]<-"sue"
?
A semi-related question: how does one get the index of a column by
name, something along the lines of col.index( X, "sue") ?

Hi,
I am trying to use the CSPADE function as part of the ArulesSequences package. When running with my own data I get a system invocation error, and also get the same when running the built in example with the zaki data:

And get the following error:

logging details
Are there plans to expand the logging capabilities in OpenSSH, so that the details of what files were moved using sftp is included? If not, does anyone know of a good way to capture this information? Thanks in advance, - Sue

how to calculate standard error for the predicted value from geeglm?
Hello R-helpers,
I would like to calculate the standard error for the predicted value
from geeglm.
As an example, I would like to calculate the GEE mean of treatments and
their standard error. I first specified the model as
mod <- geeglm(resp ~ trt,
data=dat,id=id,family=Gaussian,corstr="ar1",weights=weight)
Then I predicted the GEE mean and se using the following code

Installing Packages
Hi.. I am using R as a user, another group built everything I am using. But I need to install some packages and my only internet access is via a web-proxy. I have hunted though the docs and I'm not finding anything on setting a proxy in the package install command. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

I am not planning to use the awful OpenSwan, I Want to sue the Kame

Trouble with Kerberos authentication
I'm not sure whether this is a Dovecot issue or a Samba issue, but as it deals with
authentication I think it's worth trying the samba experts first.
Here's the scenario ...
I have an AD/DC running Samba 4.4.14. I have 3 AD users: mark, sue, dennis. Mark and Dennis
use both Windows 7 and Linux (also running PAM-enabled Samba 4.4.14) domain member
workstations. Sue is Windows 7
