Help: Failed to verify incoming ticket! revisited, problems with Samba/2003
I am struggling with a Samba/Server 2003 problem which doesn't make sense. I have compiled Samba 3.0.14a and MIT Kerberos 1.3.6 several times on different machines. I have a set of RPMS which work fine on one of my workstations, but do not work on the server. On the server I get the dreaded: reply_spnego_kerberos(173) Failed to verify incoming ticket! in the logs. I have compiled

I'm Sure I'm Missing Something Simple and Stupid, But...
Problem: When I try to open a samba share from a Windows 2003 R2 computer, I get a login challenge. When winbind and smb start up, the logs look clean except for the following: smbd.log -------- [2008/11/11 04:42:16, 3] lib/privileges.c:get_privileges(261) get_privileges: No privileges assigned to SID [S-1-22-1-0] [2008/11/11 04:42:16, 3] lib/privileges.c:get_privileges(261)

Linux NIS/NFS/Samba server bound to Active Directory
Hello all! We are currently testing the implementation of a multi-use server at my work. I am working with a Windows 2003 RC2 domain controller, and a CentOS 5 NIS/NFS/Samba server. I've followed various how-to's and researched several errors during the past sixteen hours working on this but all things I try seem to come back with empty results. I

Problem: samba refuse my user with error message : NT_STATUS_NO_ SUCH_USER
Hi all, I'm trying to make samba authenticate to my Active Directory Domain. I already configured and tested Kerberos5 and joined my machine to my domain with no problems, getent passwd and group give me the correct output also wbinfo give a good output too, and I can logon using my domain user to SSH and to my server console, so I assume my Kerberos config is correct. Also I

Member servers log.smbd is following error with Vista client: ------------------- [2009/09/02 14:12:02, 3] smbd/process.c:1259(switch_message) switch message SMBsesssetupX (pid 30541) conn 0x0

"Ticket not yet valid" message - further info
Hi, Thanks to all who responded to my initial post to the list regarding "Ticket not yet valid" messages in my samba logs. I neglected to include this in my initial post - we had already suspected clock synchronisation problems, and all of our servers (AIX Samba server and windows clients) are all synchronised to the AD DC, which is sychronised to an internet atomic clock in Melbourne.

"Ticket not yet valid" message in log
Hi, I'm having a problem with Samba 3 in AD mode. For some reason, the first time (usually first thing in the morning) a user tries to map a drive to my samba 3 server, the log shows a message "Ticket not yet valid". The user is prompted for username/password (they've already logged on to the windows domain, so they shouldn't be prompted. The user then waits for a minute or

Samba and trusted domains
Hi All, I installed samba 3.0.22 and join it to Win2003 AD domain. Users from my domain can access the samba shares successfully. My problem is that users from trusted domains can not access to my samba shares Wbinfo -m - show all the trusted domains Wbinfo -u - show all the users include the trusted domains users. Any Idea? Debian Stable Samba 3.0.5 to 3.0.6 upgrade - broke my config?
I upgraded Samba from 3.0.5 to 3.0.6 using apt & the Debian Stable binary packages on samba.org. Samba server was a member server for a Windows 2000 AD domain. Since then, I have been having problems connecting to it by name (\\TERABYTE) - ip address works fine, but by name I'm prompted for a username/password and nothing works. I'm guessing this is a Kerberos problem, and

another "Failed to verify incoming ticket"
Hello everyone, I'm sorry for this long post, but I think there is a real understanding problem for many people on ADS domain membership. I'm not the first to post about this type of problem, however I didn't find an answer to it in the archives and I followed the HOWTO-collection. Well, this is what I'm doing : I am using samba-3.0.1 compiled from source, MIT kerberos 1.3.1

samba 3.0.2a & Win2003 AD controler
Hello samba experts ! I have a big problem with my samba 3.0.2a on debian. I use winbindd, which seems to work (getent passwd/group and wbinfo -u works), and the net ads join worked too, but the authentication with the AD controler, hosted on Win2003 Server, fails. Authentication problems with win2k3 domain controller
Hi I'm having problems with samba-3.0.21b and Windows Server 2003 domain controllers. When I try to access the samba server from a client (\\sambasrv) I only get a login prompt, no username/password combination works. Accessing the samba server through its IP-number instead of using the netbios name works. This together with the log message "Failed to verify incoming ticket!"

Unable to connect samba server using hostname [2]
Hi, I've got th same problem than in this tread (no solution found) : http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2005-November/113914.html except I've got the problem on all stations. I am unable to connect to samba server using it's hostname, whereas it's work with IP address. When I use the hostname, Samba always request for login/password. [2006/09/21 12:59:04, 3]

cross-realm spnego issue in 3.0.2rc1
Hi, I just installed 3.0.2rc1 for testing, and I came across a problem with cross-realm authentication. I joined samba to our active directory domain, and I can see that it has host and cifs principals in windows kerberos. Our organization's primary kerberos realm (CEDE.PSU.EDU) is an MIT kerb5 realm, and we have a one-way non-transitive trust such that windows (server 2003) kerberos
