Below is Linus's response about bounce buffer change. I am late to work, but this evening will try to

Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
Are you looking for local or Long distance? What will these T1s primarily be used for(inbound/outbound, domestic, local, long distance, international) How important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to use per month? We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so I may be able to refer you to one if it's a match to what you're

rpc and wine
can someone tell me how to get RPC and WINE to work in conjunction with one another? I have serious need to run an RPC application under linux's WINE port. If I cannot find a solution, I'm regretably going to have to change the OS to windows which I'd prefer not to do. Thanks, Chris

tests to see how ext3 reiserfs 3.6 and jfs survive disk errors.
I made some tests to see how ext3 reiserfs 3.6 and jfs survive disk errors. The test is simple: format a partition, copy the kernel source, unmount and and do ?dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hdd bs=512 count=100000 seek=30000? to simulate a disk surface damage and then run fsck. seek=30000 ? this must be the second half of journal in reiserfs and ext3, for jfs I don't know Result: jfs: ---- total

non-standard boot floppys
I experimented with floppy sizes. Eg. I used FDFORMAT v1.8 to format a Disk fdformat a: t82 s21 D10 (I even have a modified version of FDFORMAT that creates only 1 FAT to save space, but I'm not using that.) All the information is written nicely to the Boot-Record http://home.freeuk.com/foxy2k/disk/disk3.htm But SYSLINUX seems to ignore the information. While DOS boots fine from these
