WEBrick OS X StartupItem?
Is it possible to create a Startup Item for WEBrick? My startup item, named swu, works fine when I run it from the command line, just not when the computer is starting up. I''m wondering if some resources are missing for ruby to load at this point... or something. Here''s output from /var/log/system.log... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Aug 18 21:18:58 localhost

Netflix
Now that netflix is in Australia, I wouldn't mind giving it a burl. It's working fine on my fedora-21 lappy with chrome-40 but not on our centos-6 mythtv setup even with chrome-41. I understand the difference might be the version of NSS - fedora-21 has 3.17 while centos is stuck at 3.16. Other than that, I'm flumoxed. Anyone got netflix running on centos-6? Cheers Bob

Yikes! Routing issues!
We switched over from a bordermanager firewall to a shorewall firewall. Some stuff is not working now. I realized that I had not created the route for the network that is not working however once I created it, it still didn''t work. Most of our network is fine however some pieces are not working. Samba printing to a PC client from Solaris
My apologies to any of you who waded through this posting on Usenet. I have tried to avoid cross-posting to the point of idiocy. :-) I am running SAS 6.12 on a Sun server under the current version of Solaris and Samba 1.9.18p10. I would like to set up printing such that I can use Samba to pass print jobs from SAS to a user's local (PC) printer. From my newsgroup searches, the basic setup

Running R embedded in an mpiexec spawned process - Fatal error: you must specify '--save', '--no-save' or '--vanilla'
I'd like someone familiar with the R options initialization to comment on a difference of behavior within/without mpiexec I have a (.NET) application with embedded R that is proven to run in a single process: ./Sample1.exe on a Debian Linux with R 3.0.2 Running the same code with mpiexec, it fails at the R engine initialization: mpiexec -n 1 ./Sample1.exe Fatal error: you must

Hello there! I am really frustrated. I try to get samba printer share to work since like 4 days now. No luck yet. Here is my problem: Windows 2000 can connect to a shared printer, but when it comes to printing I fail. Is samba able to print with cups? (I installed the printer with cups and there it works great.) How can i find out which print command I need to use? I tried playing with lpr on

Upgrading bundled Samba in Mac OS X to 3.5.1?
Hi. I just joined the Samba mailing list and this is my first question. I would like to upgrade on of my PowerPC Macs (running Mac OS X 10.5.8) to Samba 3.5.1 without stomping on the bundled installation (3.0.25b-apple). This is something I've never attempted before, and though I've made progress, I'm stuck trying to figure out how to override Apple's version of Samba. So far,

I got my USB ups reporting on macOS, but it was quite a while ago, I’ll have to dig into how I did it.. I do remember is wasn’t simple.. ( actually is was long drawn out pain in the …. ) Maybe search for posts from me, I’ll check what I did on the weekend and get back to you.. Or, buy an APC.. as they will just appear in Energy Saver.. > On 6 Jun 2018, at 15:41, Charles Lepple
