OpenSSH on SunOS 4
I'm trying to update an ssh 1.2.27 to OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 and am running into a
problem.
I've successfully built zlib 1.1.4, OpenSSL 0.9.6c, and tcp_wrappers , but
when I attempt to run configure, I get the error about the missing posix
regex. So I attempted to download and use pcre (the Perl hack to expose
perl regex to posix. But I can't build that since it calls strtoul()

I have tried the zlib from Sun freeware and version 11.8.0

Winbind authentication
Hi everyone,
First of all, could you please CC me, I am not (yet) subscribed to this
list.
Now my problem:
I created a test setup at my office that uses winbind to authenticate linux
users to a Windows NT server (they log in with DOMAIN+username), as described
in the winbindd manpage. I followed their setup completely.

Problem authenticating from standalone servers via Samba 3.0.34 domain member servers to Samba 3.2.5 domain controller
We recently upgraded our PDC from Debian 4 to Debian 5. That entailed
an upgrade of Samba from 3.0.24 to 3.2.5. Since the upgrade we've had
a very specific problem connecting to shares on a commercial NAS
running Samba 3.0.34.
The problem happens when users try to connect to shares from
standalone servers--e.g., Windows XP Pro boxes that we use for
testing. From those boxes users should be

Samba 3.3.0.obeta3, Redhat 9.0, Win2k ADS integration
My goal here is to add my Redhat 9.0 box to the domain and authenticate
to the ADS Win2K domain from my Redhat 9.0 box.
I have read the user gorup archives, man pages, for smb.conf and winbind,
and I have read Head/3.0 documentation, specifically this part is where
I started:

Using openssh 3.1p1 on Solaris with tcp wrappers 7.6
Dear Open SSH and TCP Wrappers Colleagues,
We are trying to use open ssh 3.1p1 on SPARC platforms
under Solaris 2.8 using gcc 2.95.2, in conjunction with
tcp wrappers 7.6 (IPv6 version). The wrapping of open ssh
is not too well documented but I think we have figured
most of this out (hearty thanks to Wietse Venema, Jim

Dear list,
could someone point me to the normal score transform and it's use in R?
I would like to transform my data with normal score transform, do some
geostatsitical predictions and would like to transform the estimated values
back including the estimation variance.
Any suggestions?

LDAP auth_bind hangs and times out
I have _almost_ got Dovecot working! One little snag...
My users login using their email address as username. Each domain has
their own LDAP subtree. Each user has an entry in the ou=users subtree
of the domain subtree, and has a mail: field (inetOrgPerson) listing
their email address/login name.
I am trying to use auth_bind: when I login with jackmc at lorentz.com,

Winbind ADS Issues w/ *TONS* of Pre-Research
Samba Team,
I've been trying to get my Samba server to authenticate users against a
Windows 2000 Active Directory domain controller, and it just doesn't work.
I've encountered a TREMENDOUS amount of postings from people who have run
into the same issue, and there's never any responses with a resolution.
I must have viewed more than 500 postings over the course of the day.

change column name in a function
Hi,
I have the following function:
TEST <- cbind(Pox0t30.stone.1990.2000,
sqrt(apply(Pox0t30.stone.1990.2000[,2:11], 1, var)))
In rhe resulting Object TEST the added column is titled:
sqrt(apply(Pox0t30.stone.1990.2000[,2:11], 1, var)
I would like to change it to a sensible variable name like PoxMean. How
can I incorporate this into the above function?

I have a problem to install the GRASS_0.1-4.tar.gz on RedHat7.1 Linux.

what is really meant.
Any experience?
