Determining burst/cburst HTB values
Hello. I am wondering if the default (auto-computed) burst and cburst parameters are appropriate values for my application. I have a 100 mbit interface which is connected to a 16 mbit uplink. I am sharing this bandwidth into a set of partitions (tc classes) defined as follows: root class [1:1] |

[LLVMdev] seeking advice
I recently subscribed to the LLVM and Clang developer mailing lists, and earlier today read a message requesting advice on "Contributing to LLVM Projects". I'm hoping to eventually get involved as well, but with my situation being very different to that described in the referenced thread I got the idea of solliciting advice seperately. If this is not the right place to ask, though,

Latest Samba Disto for Os390/Unix ?
HI,I would be interested if there is a release of Samba for Os390/Unix later that 1.9. (I have tried downloading the 'samba-latest.tar.gz' file from the mirror site, but as I cannot unzip/untar it,due to not having the 'gzip' program !). Therfore I am not sure how compatible it may or may not be with my Os390/Uss platform. Thanks for any help received in advance. John.

two interfaces - borrowing bandwidth...
Hello... I have one 2Mbit WAN interfaces and two vlan LAN interfaces - vlan2 and vlan3. I''d like to limit bandwidth something like this: rate 1Mbit ceil 2Mbit for vlan2 and rate 1Mbit ceil 2Mbit for vlan3 with possibility to borrow bandwidth between vlan2 and vlan3. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Is it possible to do in any way? regards, -- Michal

TEQL: 2 Mbit eth1 + 2Mbit eth2 = 1Mbit teql0
Hi there, I have two ethernet connections of 2Mbit/s each and I''m trying to add them together to one 4Mbit/s connection but I cannot get more than approximate 1Mbit/s! My setup: I have a LAN (10.2.18.0/24), connected to a larger network (10.0.0.0/8) by two WAN-connections with 2Mbit/s each. On each end I have a Linux router. I first setup the routers to use TEQL with one of the

Setting up dual WAN firewalling bridge
I currently have a 6mbit DSL line with a /28 block of static IP numbers. My DSL modem is in bridge mode, so I do not have a router. Because I dont want to put all my machines directly on the internet without some kind of firewall, I put a Linux machine between my DSL modem and my LAN, like this, DSL Modem --> eth0 Linux bridge/firewall/shaper eth1 --> LAN I need more bandwidth though

Low-priority traffic
Hello, I''m a total tc newbie, and I''m trying to tweak the wondershaper script (http://lartc.org/wondershaper/) to get a slightly different result. Excuse me if I will not use the correct technical terms, it''s a whole new world to me :) wondershaper.htb creates 3 HTB classes; 1:10 is high prio, 1:20 is bulk (default), and 1:30 is low priority. The classes are

Seeking documentation for SAMBA3+LDAP but NOT PDC
Hi there, I would like to build a _simple_ server for sharing files, using Samba3. I use FreeBSD5, the machine works well with ldap, nss_switch, pam_ldap. Users can login (ssh) using the ldap account : perfect. Now i want them to access some file/shares using SMB with Samba3, using their LDAP account. BUT : **I don't want to turn this simple server into a PDC machine** This would be

How classes/filters work .. hmm.
What I need to do: shape every user on my LAN to 256Kbit -- class for web trafiic with rate X ceil 256Kbit -- class for other(p2p) traffic with rate 1Kbit ceil 200Kbit This is good because even if they have p2p programs running they will always have fast web surfing. I can do it with bash scripts - one class per ip with 2 children. But I wonder if something like this would work: # class

[LLVMdev] Seeking advice on Structural Analysis pass
Hi Trevor, I just studied your diagrams -- I *think* that the "control tree" of structural analysis is not same as the "control flow tree" from your own Java work. However, as you understand your work more than I do, I present you with some fancy coloured diagrams that I drew that might help you (and others!) understand what structural analysis does a bit better than the

Thank you all for valuable input, another question: when do I actually need the echo cancellation (hardware / on board /on module ) ? Seeking advice about auth/home serving
Hi, I'm currently using nis/nfs3/autofs in a small network (20 boxes), and planning on using a more secure/elegant method. The thing is, which solution to adopt ? The network is mainly composed of Centos boxes, and a couple MS/Win ones. ldap/kerberos/nfs4 ? Directory Server ? Anything else ? Another point is, we have several servers with a local /data. Is there any solution to make each /data

Seeking packaging advice
I have 3 questions about creating a package for R, and would appreciate any guidance. 1. Demonstrating the packaged code requires some support code files. It would seem natural to put these in the demo directory, but "Writing R extensions" says files in demo should be suitable for runing from demo(). The support files are not intended to be run from the top level. How should I handle

Seeking advice on "introducing R"
Dear List: This is in search of advices/opinions for a lecture presentation on R. I have this presentation scheduled on Saturday (16-October-2004); the topic is "introduction to R". The audience is a group of researchers and scholars who have either never used R/are beginning to use R, but otherwise have used a package called limdeb, and SPSS. There is also a request to cover Rgnumeric,

seeking advice for manipulating matrices to find the difference
I have two matrices (see example below) and I want the differences for the matching row numbers, but the row numbers are not identical in the two matrices. There are probably many ways to do this. Anyone know of any easy way to do this? I could loop over them, but you know what they say about for loops... Thanks, Roger > out.r[1:5, 1:3] 1 2 3 1100 -0.0992 -0.0802 -0.0653 1200 -0.1242

Seeking advice on dynamic linear models with matrix state variable.
Hello, fellow R users,   I recently need to estimate a dynamic linear model in the following form:   For the measurement equation:   Y_t = F_t * a_t + v_t   where Y_t is the observation. It is a 1 by q row vector for each t. F_t is my forecasting variable. It is a 1 by p row vector. a_t is my state variable. It is a p by q MATRIX of parameters with each column of the matrix being regression

If there are still analog devices in addition to VoIP, I'd say always, but Asterisk has a rudimentary echo canceller already on board. The Telcos use echo cancellers themselves, but it cannot hurt to

seeking advice: dovecot versions; mailbox formats.
Hi, I'm currently migrating our old (colocated) mail server (running a [terribly outdated, I know] dovecot 1.1.11) to a new VPS (virtual private server). The old server was running gentoo linux (which is mainly the culprit of the old dovecot version: gentoo was too much trouble to keep updating); the new server will run debian (stable: 6). Debian currently has dovecot 1.2.15 in its
