sample configurations for samba-3.0.0
Hi ! I'm currently testing out samba-3.0.0 - but I need a lot of time to find out, how some features have to be configured. To find out if your current samba-installation doesn't work because of a configuration, a missing file or a bug in samba consumes sometimes a lot of time. I think it would be useful, if the samba-distribution would have a certain directory for working

samba-3.0.0rc4 && acl-support
Hi ! I?m currently testing samba-3.0.0rc4 as a pdc with acl-support. The box runs with debian-linux and a xfs-enabled 2.4.22-kernel. I have defined a share which is located on a xfs-partition. (changing acls with setfacl works well) I activated the flag : nt acl support = yes If I now try to change acls, i can open the win2k-acl-dialoge - but changes are not accepted by a "permission

RPC Error with PC Netlink - some additional info
Some additional info: The solaris server is Solaris 10 (sparc.) According to man smb.conf, "enable asu support = yes" creates an IPC only "ADMIN$" share. Using the computer management tool from a Windows machine I could verify this was the case. However, the "ADMIN$" share on the PC Netlink server is actually a data share. I did try "enable asu support =

interdomain trusts / wbinfo and listent_recv: returned no users
As per earlier post, I was having problems getting trusts setup between my Samba domain (3.0.x PDC, 3.4.x BDC on Solaris 10) and two Active Directory domains (each in a separate forest.) One domain is a test Win 2003 PDC in native Win 2003 mode, the other is a Win 2008 system also in native Win 2003 mode. To summarize some of the progess- things work better if the Samba 3.4 is the PDC,

According to http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/2_0/whatsnew.html there is still a problem with nagios because of some thread issues. See also: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2005-May/014518.html I'm looking fors some freebsd developer who would be willing to

Bug within Authentication Caching
Hello, there seems to be a bug in the authentication caching code when using it in combination with username_translation (using the current version 1.0.7 on FreeBSD 6). I've set username_translation to +@:@ to allow usernames of the form test+dom.ain or test:dom.ain (historical reasons force us....). If someone has a successful login using the username test at dom.ain, the subsequent

Why do Interdomain trusts try to use kerberos
I have setup a test PDC with samba 3.4.7 on a fedora core 12 linux machine. I have setup two way interdomain trusts with a Windows 2008 domain. The domain and forest functional levels are Windows 2003. Since the samba machine is not emulating an Active Domain Controller, the Windows 2008 machine should think it is talking to an NT4 server. And since NT4-based domains don't use

Why do Interdomain trusts try to use kerberos - updated
On my test Samba PDC, I updated the krb5.conf file to add realm info for the Windows 2008. This seems to have resolved my "wbinfo" issue. "getent passwd" is still not working (I did update nsswitch.conf) but I suspect this is because of an idmap allocation issue. The syntax for idmap allocation in smb.conf seems to change between 3.0, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4. I have also tried

Confused on how to do a machinefunction pass
Hi everyone, I am a LLVM newbie. I need to write a machinefunction pass for my project. This should be an analyzer of the machine code to do some profiling. I have written a couple of function passes for front end, but it seems they are completely different. I searched through forum and llvm documents, but couldn't find anything useful or questions were unanswered. Can anyone reference me to

Confused on how to do a machinefunction pass
Dear John, Thank you so much for your help. I looked at those documents. Could you kindly answer the following questions: Does it mean that I have to make my own backend target in order to write a machine pass even if I want to run a simple machinefunction pass? for example,if I want my pass to get MIPS instructions as an input, I have to copy all the files from mips target and add a file to it
