Login Scripts in LDAP
Hi ! I use Samba with OpenLDAP. The Samba users information are keept in LDAP. I'd like to keep the login scripts in LDAP. Something knows how can I do this ? And how Samba would read the login scripts in LDAP and not in netlogon directory ? Thanks, Bruno Stella PS: Sorry by my English :-)

Logon script problem
Hello, I've changed my Samba Server 2.2.7a on a Mandrake 9.1 (2.4.21) for a Samba server 3.0.20-3.1 (with samba-vscan-clamav-3.0.20-3.1) on a Mandrake 2006 (2.6.12). I've always used for the samba clients (WXP pro) the logon scripts created by make_logon_script. In this script, I used to use the commands listed below: net use K: \\PDC\share route add <network> mask <mask>

Migrate a Samba 3.0 PDC from Redhat 9 to Debian Sarge
Hi all, I have a Samba 3.0.20b installation on a Redhat 9 system running as PDC for a Windows Domain. I now would like to move the PDC funktionality to an existing Debian Sarge system running Samba 3.0.23c and then decommision the Redhat system. I did search for information on how to do this but all the information that I could find seems to deal with Samba 2.x PDCs since the MACHINE.SID file is

No Getent
Using winbind for authentication through PDC. Problem: Some users do not get access to the samba share and some do. When I do "wbinfo -u" the users who cannot access show up but when I do "getent passwd", they are not there. port for rpc.statd occupied rsync port
Hello, booting starts /etc/init.d/nfslock. today, rpc.statd used port 873. later starting xinetd finds port used and disabled rsync daemon. So its more or less a lucky break, to boot CentOS and have rsync running? In /etc/rc3.d is S14nfslock S56xinetd so by design xinetd starts always after nfslock!!!! Best regards -- Viele Gr??e i.V. All lines occupied notification from endpoint
Hi, I've noticed that if I have a multi-line linksys (942 or 962) phone with the same sip registration mapped to each line key, that if all the lines are full the phone will accept another call. I would expect the phone to respond with "busy" so the call would to directly to voicemail. Has anyone else experienced this and know of a workaround? I know it seems like an

Amount of memory occupied by data type
Hello all, I was under the (false?) assumption that an object that is class logical, would take up less memory than an object with class integer. Below am I correctly showing this is not the case? This was an attempt to reduce memory usage. I'm dealing with two large arrays (could be integers). Their contents are the exact same, but one has NA's in random locations. I thought instead

Tinc clients behind a NAT, tunnels get unstable
Hi, I'm running some tinc clients behind a NAT (masquerading, Cisco Router) connecting to a host outside on a public IP in a different network. The tunnels get unstable every few minutes and I see packet loss when pinging the clients on their internal tunnel IPs from the host side. Before putting the tinc clients behind the NAT they were running on public IPs too (clients and host in

Tinc1.1 generates Port automatically when port is occupied
I like the config generator of tinc 1.1! An issue to consider on the default behavior: It turns out 'tinc -n mynet init mynodename' makes up a default Port=... when the standard port is taken: "Warning: could not bind to port 655. Tinc will instead listen on port 22911". It is nice that this is autodetected and warned, but I wonder whether it is nice to let this

ext3 integrated ramdisk funktionality
Hi, are there any plannings to integrate a kind of ramdisk funktionality into ext3? I imagine a dynamic ramdisk into which only modified files of a read-only mounted ext3 are copied in order to have read-write access without really writing (because the filesystem is on a compact flash disk, for example). sum(..., na.rm=TRUE) oddity
Hi all, I get two different results when using sum() and the switch na.rm. The result is correct when na.rm=FALSE. Linux Redhat 7.3, R version 1.6.1. I've had no luck searching the mail archives, so I was hoping somebody could explain/check this one for me. I will need to apply the function to missing data, simple as it is. Code: x<-matrix(runif(20,0,5)%/%1,4,5) # random matrix

Auto Create Home - shadow_copy2 and root preexec
Hi, I make use of shadow_copy2 and root preexec. The vfs root preexec is responsible to auto create home directories which initially don't exist. The script behind it is well tested and works perfectly. Unfortunaltely shadow_copy2 seems to be called before root preexec and fails due to the missing ZFS home share which causes the session to fail completely before root preexec even has a
