SAMBA and NFS

The goal of this project is to replace an old MS Gateway Services for Novell server (using IPX) with something that can do the same thing but over IP. I am pretty sure Novell and AD can share files

We have Samba configured to allow mapping of shares to our ClearCase Windows Clients. Everything was working fine. Now we have set up a second server to host all our Views separate from the VOBs. So we have a View server and a separate VOB

Log shows access granted to NT userid belonging to the right UNIX group. Then, editing a file ( using a view thru Explorer), log shows another non authenticate user called clearcase_albd trying to be validated. I guess due to

whoops, corrupted my filesystem
Hi all- I corrupted my filesystem by not doing a RTFM first... I got an automated email that the process monitoring the SMART data from my hard drive detected a bad sector. Not thinking (or RTFMing), I did a fsck on my partition- which is the main partition. Now it appears that I've ruined the superblock. I am running Fedora Core 6. I am booting off the Fedora Core 6 Rescue CD in

Missing 4.1 SRPMS?
I can't seem to find autofs-4.1.3-131.src.rpm on the download mirrors... I notice that there are not many SRPMS in the 4.1 /centos/4.1/os/SRPMS directory on the download mirrors - is this because most can be found under /centos/4.0/os/SRPMS and /centos/4.0/updates/SRPMS? - or should all the 4.1 SRPMS be in /centos/4.1/os/SRPMS ? Thanks James Pearson

A question about rsync
Hi: I really want to know how rsync works. Once it synchronize a file. Does rscync first create a temporary in the remote machine first and then rename it? Or it direct write the difference into the dest-file? Could you please tell me what will happen to the dest-file when a rsync process interrupted by some problems(network problem etc ...)? Thanks for your help Best Regards
