Re: [linux-lvm] lvm deadlock with 2.4.x kernel?
I think I have this one solved, I hope. I think what Andreas and I are running into are a few different assertions. One being the LVM lvm_do_pv_flush caused assertion which is related directly to invalidate_buffers() being called which then triggers refile_buffer() on a journaled buffer, which appears clean in all other ways according to the checks in refile_buffer(). The following is what

kernel BUG at journal.c:1772!
Hello everyone. I'm running Red Hat 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18-10 and all errata patches installed. My system has been running for over three years without any problems. All I've done to it in that time is add a mirror set of two 80GB drives, a Promise IDE controller, and upgrade Red Hat through the 7.x series. Right now I have three drives. A 13GB system drive off the motherboard, and

I have a samll package that works well and complies nicly on WinXP, using R-2.4.1 Now I want to add a document so i make a folder inst\doc and put the .tex and .pdf in there. mixing ext3 and reiserfs on slackware 10
Will I run into any problems mixing ReiserFS and ext3 on my slackware linux box? I'm using ReiserFS and LVM on the current version, thinking of mixing it up a bit with slackware 10, again with LVM. Thanks for any advice! ===== Christopher Mark Conn http://storm.cadcam.iupui.edu/~cmcgoat Austin, Texas, USA

I'll be generating a new patchset this weekend. Actually if you dont fix recovery.c it will hang the machine when you mount an fs that needs recovering. With the old patches at least umount of ext3 seems fine as is. Alan

Export knfsd/ext3 on doubly patched kernel(knfsd/reiserfs) OK?
Hi - if I have a doubly patched kernel (2.4.5) (1) Apply gkernel/CVS ext3 patches (2) Apply Neil Brown/Reiserfs team knfsd and reiserfs patches Will ext3 be exportable by knfsd (i.e. inherit automagically the nfsd_operations thingies from ext2) or does it need further patching? -- Chan Shih-Ping (Richard) <cshihpin@dso.org.sg> DSO National Laboratories 20 Science Park Drive

ReiserFS - status?
Hi All. What is the status of ReiserFS in CentOS at the moment? I have some servers which use it as a loadable kernel module. I am thinking about a filesystem for database systems and would like to know if ReiserFS will be maintained in CentOS/Linux kernel in the future? Best regards, Rafal.

Q: No Reiserfs in Kernel
Hello, I have a quick question. I am currious why reiserfs isn't compiled into the kernel? Although RHEL doesn't include the tools to manage reiserfs it includes the kernel drivers. Thanks, Bill

Upgrading fom Fedora Core 1 to Centos - Reiserfs?
Hi, I want to 'upgrade' from fedora core 1 to centos 3.1, but all of my partitions are reiserfs. The anaconda installer does not give the option to use reiserfs in the disk partitioning portion, is there any way to change this? or should i use a different method to upgrade? Tim.

ReiserFS and CentOS
RedHat has stripped out support for ReiserFS in their enterprise Linux products. It appears the unsupported CentOS kernel supports ReiserFS. Doesn't anaconda and the kickstart boot kernel also need to be enhanced to support ReiserFS as well? thanks for any help.
