[Shane Drinkwater]
Daniel,
I have the same probelm. These are the steps I did in a previous thread...
Jim,
I think I found another bug... I really seem to be in printer hell :(.... I
found that windows 2k doesn't update its status "ready" or "paused" when
used with samba. Here is what I did...
1.) enable all of the lpr/lpd queues. check em' with lpq...

drivers on the server. If this is the case I suspect you may need "use
client driver = yes" in your printer share. For details please see the
manpage for smb.conf, but here are a few snips...
use client driver (S)
This parameter applies only to Windows NT/2000
clients. It has no affect on Windows 95/98/ME
clients. When

Just a quick suggestion for backup solution, please?? ?
Hi!
We use Tapeware to back up a combination of LINUX and MS servers across the
network to one of two media servers. One is Windows based and the other is
LINUX. Having a little problem with the old tape autoloader on the LINUX
box, but the backup/restore from the MS platform works very well.

Intermittent failed logon for one computer
Hello,
We have been using Samba 3.0.7 for almost a month now, and today marks
the second time that I see a machine (one out of twelve on our network"
that gives this error when I log in:
"The system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's
computer account in its primary domain is missing or the password on
that account is incorrect."

Ghost Create account: procedure number out of range in Samba
Hello,
I would like to clone a Windows XP workstation that's part of a Samba
domain using Norton Ghost.
In Ghost you need to create an account in the domain to be able to add your
domain to the list of supported domains by the Norton Ghost console.
When I try to add such an account, I get this error message:
Unable to add DOMAIN to the list of supported domains,

quick pam_winbind.so question

I'm trying to use pam_winbind and apache's basic authentication to
restrict access to certain directories served by apache.
It does work, but when I enter a wrong password I get this error in

Is there a way that pam_winbind.so can encrypt the passwords

Usernames with dots
Now that I have winbind working, life is good. However, I've hit upon a
real kick in the pants.
As you can see from my email address, we have a convention here of
usernames being firstname.lastname. So, when I go to change the owner
ship of a file:
$ chown chris.palmer myfile
Linux thinks I mean user chris, group palmer, and says "invalid group"
(there is no palmer group,

3.0.6 and pam_winbind problems (sernet)?
Recently I upgraded a server from samba 3.0.2a to 3.0.6, and now apache
won't authenticate properly with pam_winbind. Winbind's been restarted,
apache has been restarted, for grins I even rebooted the server.

Queues +Exiting
I'm having a problem getting my queue to function as it should.
After 20 seconds or so, it should prompt the user with a message "thanks
for holding..... press # to leave a message or stay on the line to
continue holding". I set up the "context" in the queues.conf file, so if
a user presses a digit, they should be able to leave. But I get a SIP
BUSY message.

Using Macro's that cause loops, on purpose and using h, exten in default twice
Please see my extensions below. I will try to type you through this. In default, an extension 5149053538 is matched on. This fires a macro that
determines what time is it, and resets a variable which is then used to call another macro to place a call. if the call is answered, and the far
end hangs up, the dial macro exits, then the routing macro exits, and you are back to default. at this point
