Re-2: Printing!
Don't bother sending me word documents.
I couldn't even open your attachment with StarOffice.
How about nice plain text? It will save a LOT of bandwidth.
If you insist on using a highly formated document, try PDF or postscript.

Could concurrent R sessions mix up variables?
Hi, I'm working in R 2.11.1 x64 on Windows x86_64-pc-mingw32.
I'm experiencing a strange problem in R that I'm not even sure how to
begin to fix.
I've got a huge (forty-pages printed) simulation written in R that I'd
like to run multiple times. When I open up R and run it on its own,
it works fine. At the beginning of the program, there's a variable X
that I set to 1,

I have something in the script wrong that I am just missing. Or if I

Words for Allison(?)
I've been looking at the weather vocabulary in asterisk-sounds in CVS.
I've run into a few hitches with words I can't seem to find. So far, I'm
looking for 'point' (for constructing floating point numbers) and 'around'
as in "high around 70" (don't I wish). Any chance of getting these?
While I'm on the subject, I'd be very interested in a

Strangeness with computer account layout in LDAP Schema?
Hello All,
I've been trying to migrate an NT 4 domain from a PDC to samba using net
rpc vampire, ran into various hitches along the way which now appear to
be mostly sorted, but the created machine accounts do not appear to be
in the correct format.
Checking ou=Computers under the main tree, no entry under this branch
has any space for an NT / LM password, here is an ldif dump of the

Wine Unbearably Slow
After using Wine without any significant hitches for over a year, I've just come across one. Every time I load any application (even winecfg), it takes between thirty seconds to one minute for it to load. During this time, normal functions take forever or don't work at all (selecting folders, opening a file, etc.). Sometimes it will load and work just fine, but often the program continues

Installing R on Slackware Linux
I mostly use Windows, but I am slowly learning to use Linux on my second
machine. (It came in handy a couple of weeks ago when I had two files to
sort, each of length about 2 million. Windows sort died after an hour, but
the Linux sorts took 2-3 minutes each.)
Anyway the last time I tried installing R in Linux I found out from a
helpful computer support person that with my distribution

Getting stats from icecast2
Hi:
Just upgraded our icecast2 server. No hitches. couple of questions
though.
What do I have to request to get the .xsl page of stats? Can't remember
the page name so I don't know if it's working or not.
The other thing is stats.xml. It now seems to need authorisation. Where do
I define the username and password for this?
Geoff.

No incoming sip calls
Hi folks - I've recently returned to asterisk after an eighteen month break.
I've two sip providers - gradwell in the UK (inbound and outbound)
and talklite in the US (outbound only).
I've managed to get outbound dialing working but am not receiving any
calls from gradwell.
I've included my sip.conf and extensions.conf as well as the output
from tethereal. When a call is placed

everything correctly i can not make the validate_presence_of() to work -
at least not as it looks in the book. My Product model looks like:

Wine fails to load programs
Here is a extract of my posting on Ubuntu forum that so far has not solved my problem:
"I have been using Wine and the programs for the past 12 months without any hitches under 32bit 8.04 and 8.10. I did a clean install of 64bit 9.04 and installed wine and the programs I need to run. It behaved oddly right from the start and then just stopped. You can see the program trying to start, and then

No Printer!
Please please help!
I have a Redhat server 7.2. It has been running fine for nearly 18 months.
I recently changed the IP on this computer and am now unable to use the printer via Samba.
The printer is fine on the local box and prints without hesitation.
If I add an new printer on a windows box and browse for it it shows up under the Samba share and even allows me to install. However when I

Partial-Form validation from multiple pages (f.e. login-partial)
Hello - hard question:
I have my login-partial in my application.html.erb-layout.
Now I want to validate it, if the user pushes the submit button and
show error-messages for it, if e.g. the passwordfield is empty.
But how do I do that? For getting the error messages, I must use
render :action => ''create''
But there I have to know, from which action I came from. Beside

A distro around Shorewall
Hi all,
Currently at work we use a commercial product called "Gnatbox", which, I
believe, is a BSD derivative running on a floppy disk. They have a pretty
UI and all, but I''d feel much safer/happier with a GNU/Linux box and
Shorewall doing the same thing.
In fact, I''m doing something very close to this at home using Openwrt and
Shorewall on my WRT54G router, but I

Multiple Logins - Single Mail Account
I have a mail account which needs to be accessed by 4-5 people
simultaneously through IMAP. As of now I have configured it on the
respective clients using the same username and password so we have
multiple people accessing the same account through their mail clients
simultaneously and it is working flawlessly. Is this alright or can it
lead to some problems or corruption of data later ? What is
