Helllo guys, Ive installed samba unfortunately without SWAT... i dont know how taht happened, bu the cd that came with the RH 7.2 just did not come with SWAT. So i tweaked the smb.conf file in my RH 7.2 and restarted all the deamons. Thanks Donovan, I downloaded the librsync 0.9.6 from sf and it compiled just fine believe it or not in the new visual studio.net. There where warnings but no fatal errors and the exe seems to be running just fine. I've tested it just now on a 60 meg mdb file that I've been trying to backup.. it seems to work great!. Hi, i agree with Stefan. I have the same problem with Win2K Client and SAMBA Server. But on my situation i have one PC that i can make a connect and all the other not. Alle workstation are on the same group, are all in the same SubNet; but i can?t see my SAMBA _ Server so well like on this machine that is working. So is there any other problems on SAMBA ? Hello there i have installed samba on my SGI IRIX box and its up and running. I have a few win xp machines. wanna make the printer availabe on my IRIX as a network printer. I tried adding the printer thru add printer wizard in windows it gets added but it shows the status as "status:Access denied, unable to connect" how should I resolve this problem ? I can actually answer this one. Windows 2000 and higher NO LONGER USES WINS. While 2000 server does still include a WINS server component, 2000 clients no longer (mostly) use them. They now use the active directory DNS for all resolution instead of WINS.
