printer trouble - missing driver?
I can't get my HP DeskJet D2345 (USB) to work on my CentOS 5.3 machine. It'll work on another machine (with Fedora 7). I compared the installation details (in CUPS http://localhost:631) - seems that Cent does not have the driver. On the F7 machine, the device is "D2345 (HP D2300 series)" and the driver is "HP DeskJet D2300 Foomatic/hpijs". When I try to config my

print_job: resource name '...' no good!

/etc/printcap for samba-shared printer...
Morning... Just spent this evening getting printing setup off my FreeBSD machine (oh, how I love Solaris at these times *groan*)...got it now so that I can print directly from Netscape, color and graphics and all. The printer is an HP 560c. Now, I want to be able to print from my Windoze95 machine, and have samba setup for that, as well as file sharing. If I setup my Windoze machine such

Samba - cannot print multiple copies
Hi, I successfully setup printing on my FreeBSD box using Samba with apsfilter and lprng. However, I have encountered two issues: 1) Cannot print multiple copies of documents from my windows box (e.g. notepad). Only the first copy is printed and the rest don't get printed. 2) My spool directory is getting filled up and I would like the job removed after the print job is finished I've

Printing with wine
Ooops, I guess a suject will get some of you to read this, hey? Hi All, Wondering if there is a document that tells how to get wine printing through a cups printer working? Yes I know the wine docs say it's all magic and if you're using cups your printing will magically work, but for some reason, it doesn't, my wine session crashes and burns when I try to print from the built in

Best Printer Setup
Hi, I've been toying with the idea of using the Linux machine as a print server. I'm using RedHat 5.2 and Samba 2.0.3. I already have one remote printer share working... but I can't figure out where the PrintTool in RedHat is storing the remote printers IP address. Anyone know where? :) (not important just bugging me - I hate when OS's hide stuff) I have the Samba book

HP Deskjet drivers, Samba and Cups
I have Samba 2.2.7 running on Redhat 8 (fully updated). I have two printers set up - a laser and a Deskjet 920C both connected to the Redhat server via USB cables. Printing is managed using CUPS although I get the same problem with LPR and Webmin configured printers. The laser works fine, the deskjet doesn't. The deskjet works with a generic windows HP Deskjet or HP Deskjet plus driver in

NT printing problem
I've got Samba 2.0.3 running on my Linux box. Marvin is the samba server. Bugs is the NT box. Attached is the relevant part of my smb.conf file. I removed several parts from what's attached to save bandwidth. What you see is simply the part that pertains to my printer. I can't print to the DeskJet printer. The printer appears in my network neighborhood, but I just can't get

almost printing
Ok, I've managed to print to my HPDeskjet 694c attached to a Solaris 8 box running samba 2.2.2 from Win98. Problem is with the left margin, there are these little lines (garbage) running down the 1st column on the left side of the page. Also, when I print a page from Word 97, the whole page doesn't print (about 95% of it) and starts a little too far down the page. Printing was perfect

Migrating from NT4 print server to Samba print server
Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with migrating printers from a WinNT4 print server to a Samba server. I have searched the web for days and haven't found a solution. I am running Slackware 10.1; kernel 2.4.29. I upgraded Samba to 3.0.21c recently and I am using LPR v3.8.28 as my print spooler. Here is the response from the 'rpc migrate printers' command:
