Any advice for installing Samba as an AD server on Raspbian Buster with BIND9 and ISC DHCP?
Sorry about the HTML in the last email - I'm attempting to resend (with fingers crossed that my mailer doesn't throw in a bunch of HTML this time...) ----> I've taken the good suggestions and made some progress getting a bind-dhcp-samba server running on the Pi with Raspbian Buster. Bind9 doesn't updated - TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
Hi Rowland, Before to add 'dns update command = /usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate --use-samba-tool' I've tried once to run 'samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names' and it has returned me TSIG error again. Bind9 doesn't updated - TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
Hi Rowland, I've added 'dns update command' on global section of smb.conf file and I've configured namesever on '/etc/resolv.conf' as 127.0.0.1 (I've tried with 'kings' IP address too), but I don't know if this has worked. I've seen some dns updates errors on 'systemctl status samba-ad-dc' though the same command has returned status 'Active

ext3 and quota still problematic?
Hello, we used ext3 with diskquota and kernel 2.4.19 and 2.4.20 and went into the described problem here: http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/ext3-usage.html see Status Were there any merges with -ac in this direction in 2.4.21 so it might be fixed? Will there be merges in the future? Does kernel 2.6.x also have this problem? Thanks alot for your answers. -- Noèl Köthe

4.3.11-Ubuntu fail to add DC to a AD domain
Rowland, thank you for answering! I have investigated this a bit, and I think that using 18.04 for the new DC will not be successful anyway. Reasons: the AD I have has been created back in the days when 14.04 LTS was fresh. The provisioning scripts worked differently. 14.04 has been upgraded to 16.04, and I think that I do not have all of the DNSes configured properly and this might be the cause

FW: Problems setting up samba bind9_dlz on Ubuntu 18.04
Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I've now installed libpam-krb5 and copied the krb5.conf to /etc instead of the symlink. I've also installed the ntp service, but I'm still getting the same errors in the dns replication. The /etc/resolv.conf is managed by netplan under Ubuntu 18: nameserver 127.0.0.53 options edns0 search domain.com I've now changed the nameserver to

S4 nsupdate tsig error with internal server
Hi I know that this has been addressed before but I couldn't find a solution. Summary: when attempting to write a dns record using nsupdate, nothing gets written to the zone due to the error: ; TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure Everything is working. We can login to the domain from the same client and we have sssd sending the dyndns update requests which also produce the same
